We have 3 potties in our house: a Summer Infant Lil Loo, an Ikea branded potty that is all one piece, and this Fisher Price Ducky potty. I chose the first two and let my daughter pick out the Ducky potty. Of the 3 this is the one I like least.Daughter thinks it's fun and gets a little excited about the duck, though I don't know if she finds that motivating. For me this potty is harder to clean than the other two. For some reason pee often gets into the space under the potty and if I'm not on top of cleaning it starts to stink pretty badly. The other two potties are so easy to clean, just dump the contents out and do a quick soap and rinse of the pot. Read more
My kid pees and poops in this thing.Things to like: There is some music played when the kid goes. It's nice for two reasons: (i) the kid gets to have some fun and (ii) you know that they went which is great since it's a bit hard with the orange color to see if the kid went pee. It's also easy to get the bowl out of the duck so you can go dump it in the human sized crapper.Bummers: the sound went off on this thing at like midnight one night. Scared the crap out of me! Sounded like a killer clown had broke into the house and was going to kill me. So the sound has been shut off since then. I wish that the switch for the music was in a more friendly position; it's on the bottom which means it's not the most accessible. Since our kid doesn't really need the audible feedback anymore it's been off for a while now. I have to say that I am missing the music a bit, pretty catchy. Read more
Fantastic!! Easy to clean and adorable. It doubles well as a step stool. She can pick it up and move it to the sink easily. She's more interested in using "the big potty," but when she doesn't want help, it's the ducky potty all the way. We also have a tiny "real" looking potty. She likes that it flushes and hado a cushioned seat. But when she doesn't feel well, it's the ducky potty. It doesn't scoot, which I love! There are no worries that it will move under her while using as a stool.this will be in use for a while to come. Multifunctional is great!! Read more
My toddler LOVES this potty chair. she actually will stop the flow, and empty the bowl herself, put it back together and sit down and finish just so she can hear the music play again. Doesn't even ask for her stickers after doing the deed, listening to the fun music is reward in itself plus the positive feedback from Mommy. The chair is sturdy and does not slip on our tile floors (we've packed it up to carry to friends houses), easy to clean and I like the versatility (can take off the ring and place on an adult size toilet, take off the deflector shield and can fold down the back and use as a step stool). My only issues are: 1) that it is easy to clean except for 2 small areas if urine is spilled into the base when removing the bowl -- you need to use a thin towel, toothbrush, q-tip or just rinse and empty to clean. 2)to remove the ring you lift it straight up - which is no problem but at first my toddler wanted to push it up like it was a real hinged toilet seat which impedes the removal of the urine bowl and can result in spills - but only the first few times and now my toddler knows to lift straight off. 3) you need to dry the bowl after each use so that drops don't puddle in the bottom causing the music to go off when it's not in use and so that when it does get used the music will play at the appropriate time. This is the third potty I bought and this one worked great for us. The first one was the froggy potty by fisher price and my daughter just played with it so when I replaced it I tried to find one that looked more like an adult potty, bowl and lid and all. The second one I tried was just a seat that sat on our regular toilet and it never fit our seat so it ended up at the in-laws. Three times is the charm, this one worked, almost completely, the potty seat that is supposed to fit over the regular toilet won't fit on our toilet seat either which is one of the reasons I give it a 4 star instead of 5. The other reason for not giving it a 5 star is that the inside portion beneath the removable bowl isn't designed the greatest and cleaning up accidents that occur while emptying it are not so easy. There's little groovy spots inside the base that are kind of hard to clean around. Fortunately we only had one accident dumping it and it was pee not pooh. Other than that it is real easy for the kids to use, my two nieces use it when they come over and they all laugh at it singing. The fact that it sings it kind of nice because it alerts me that my daughter is in the bathroom and I need to go help her. Overall I'm really happy with this potty, my daughter likes using it and we've had success with potty training from day one on this potty. I'm still searching for a seat that fits our regular toilet so I can get away from having to dump it and clean it out all the time, which by the way, our seat is a Bemis easy close elongated seat, the opening is 10 inches long and just about 8 inches wide. The removable seat ring won't work on this style regular toilet seat. Read more
I bought 2 different training potties for my 2 year old son. We started using both potties at the same time, this one is located in his bathroom upstairs. The other is located in the bathroom downstairs. This design is adorable and I was really excited for him to use it. However, more often than not, my son is distracted by the movable splash guard and won't leave it alone. Rarely does he successfully use this potty. He likes to tinker with things and I think it breaks his concentration. The other potty has a stationary splash guard and we have had much more success without the distraction. Read more
I don't even have to ask the toddlers if they have to use the potty....they volunteer bc this potty goggles and sings when they're successful. It's a snap to lift out the little bowl, dump it in the toilet, rinse and replace. I also quickly wipe it out with a Clorox wipe to be sanitary. Read more
Very practical, portable, sturdy and cute! My daughter loves it!We took it with us camping and on road trips, fits perfectly in the space between door & middle row of seats in our van for our 3.5-year-old daughter to use it in the van with door closed for privacy and still have enough room for me to help with wiping. Sound box can easily be removed when washing or if you don’t like the sound & can reduce the weight a little bit for carrying/travelling.With the feet, it was a bit too wide to fit in our stroller’s bottom compartment. Once the screws on the feet are removed, the feet can be taken out making the potty perfect size to fit in the stroller compartment and the feet can easily be placed back on for stability during use. Only one complaint, it comes apart very easily, my boy wanted to play with it and take it apart, trying to use it without the bowl to catch the poop. He was very angry, just like any 2 year old can get.I wish it snapped into place, or secured so it wouldn't fall apart if knocked on its side. Read more
It's doing well so far, been used more of a stepstool for my son, but he is starting his potty training journey. I did remove the pee guard to make it safer for him as it's can make it challenging for him to seat himself on it, and I don't mind wiping up a little pee if he misses. All in all I'm very happy with it. The song it makes on a successful pee is very rewarding for everyone. Read more
Awesome potty! My little guy laughs when the music plays. It's so cute! And good privmce when I bought it. I wanted to get another one to keep upstairs, but when I looked the price had gone up! It was shockingly high. I wouldn't normally pay that much so I must have gotten it on a secial price or something. It works really well, so glad I got it! Read more
Bought this more than 2 years ago while on deep discount. Now ready to use it, and have found that it randomly goes off when not in use as a few others have reported. At times up to every 5-10 minutes for a few hours, then stops for a day. Annoying enough that sound is now turned off. All of this before kid ever successfully used it.It is otherwise a nice, sturdy potty and step, so would buy again but only if again deep discounted, to use without batteries. Read more
