I keep getting emails asking me to review this purchase. Of all the things I have purchased on Amazon this one apparently really needs my review. It's good cotton. Tears easily, soaks up liquid. I mean... it's a roll of cotton. It's not doing my taxes or cooking me steak for dinner. It's meant to help me bleach the grout in the bathtub. And it did a marvelous job. Read more

Full disclosure, I did not know that cotton coil is most commonly used in hair care. I actually bought this product to clean with! I dunked it in bleach and then laid it along the grout behind the kitchen sink. I left it on overnight, and the next morning when I removed the coil there was no gunk, mold, mildew, or funk along the grout anymore. Read more

I read an article on bleaching caulk/grout to remove mildew. It said to use cotton coil soaked in bleach along the caulk/grout line. Let it sit for several hours to overnight and the mildew will disappear. Well, that sort of worked. I have clear silicone caulk so it took a few tries to get the mildew completely gone but finally it did. This cotton is rather thin so I had to double it up. It also turned into "goop" after sitting in the bleach all night and was kind of hard to dispose of. The only reason I am giving it four stars is because it is so thin and pulls apart easily. So the thinness might be an issue no matter what you are using it for. Read more

I use this to clean out the mildew along the bottom of our shower (by dipping the strips into a bleach and water mixture and then lining the bottom of the shower with the cotton). I've tried using cotton balls but this is a lot more efficient. My one issue with this cotton is that it's not super strong; if you don't fish it out of your bleach mixture quickly, it will disintegrate. So I dip it in enough to wet it, and then take it out quickly and gently, and very *gently* squeeze the excess out. You have to be ginger about it but it does the trick - after soaking the cotton overnight our shower looks like new! Read more

I used this to get rid of black mold under silicon caulking that has haunted me for years. I read about this remedy online. Soak this in bleach and pack it lightly on the caulk, and let it sit. The mold will be gone literally overnight. A great alternate use for this beauty product. Forty feet was more than I needed, but then I have some left for other trouble spots Read more

Amazingly effective for cleaning around the rim of the tub and shower grout! I soaked it in bleach than laid it on the mold stained areas (used masking tape to keep it in place along the grout in the shower wall). After a few hours, everything looked like new. Read more

It's designed for perms, of course, but I bought this after seeing an online video about how to bleach the caulk around the bottom of your shower, and I've already found multiple uses for the roll -- so glad I bought plenty! I had hard water deposits all around the base of my sink fixtures, but those are gone, as this line of cotton kept some CLR in contact with the surface long enough to do the trick: only took about 20 minutes, and the finish is in good shape. The fixtures look new! My mom was so impressed that I gave some to her, and I'm still probably set for the next year or so. Life is good! Read more

Take this - soak it in bleach - lay or press it along the grout between tiles in your shower - leave it overnight - OH MY SPARKLE WHITE!!! It literally looked like night and day in my shower! Tile on the floor NEVER stay clean and all the cleaners I tried, after scrubbing and scrubbing, didn't come close to just laying down lines of this soaked in bleach. I'll never scrub that stuff again! Read more
