We went through an awful period dealing with lice. I would treat my little girl with the insecticide that the doctor recommended, which I was horrified to use. Then spend an hour with the nit comb doing our very best and a week later see the dreaded little black bugs. Every Saturday night for a month this went on. Finally, I ordered the Fairy Tales lice treatment pack (sold separately), spent the hour combing through with a much better nit comb that was included with the kit. Then we sprayed the conditioning spray every morning before school and washed her hair 2-3 times a week with the Rosemary Repel shampoo. I have yet to see a bug since switching. Plus, it smells good. The product itself is great, and we love it, but from now on I'm buying it in store. The cap was unscrewed on the bottle of shampoo, and it made a huge mess inside the bag. Not to mention, for as pricy as this shampoo is, I don't want to pay for only half a bottle. I wish I had paid better attention to reviews, because this seems to be a common issue now with this seller. I really dislike this product, originally bought it to keep lice away. My daughter had gotten lice from her classroom and thinking this would help keep them away after several treatments and then using the product. It didn't. I also canceled one order and still got sent an extra and was charged for it. The smell is something you have to get use to but I didn't mind it smells very natural, which I like. The conditioning spray is awful does not help condition and makes my daughters hair greasy no matter how much I put in it. Now I have 4 bottles just a waste. Read more

We got the dreaded ‘note’ someone in the school had notified them their child had head lice! 😱 my head immediately started itching and panic set in. I checked my blond hair child’s hair and didn’t see anything so next move by fairy tales! As soon as we got it my kid went in the tub and I washed the heck out of her hair. The smell is strong, in a good way, my daughter referred to it as ‘minty’. I then combed the conditioner through. She looked at me and her eyes watered lol ok overboard mom. But here is the thing. I remember when I got it in the 80s and the terror ‘comb’ is hat ripped my hair out. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and the meds my dog prescribed causes my hair to be brittle and fall out so it’s already delicate I don’t think my hair could withstand the chemicals and comb. I LOVE this combo. My child just got lice for the first time and after about $50 worth of medicated lice products and lots of diligent nit picking my child still had nits and I’m sure, lice that I couldn’t see. I bought this combo and after about a week I didn’t see anything else. I will continue to use this so that we don’t have to go through this headache again. I notice that it leaves my little girl’s hair a little greasy which is very unusual for her but we’ll roll with it. I don’t know how effective it is at repelling lice but I use it twice a week more or less and hoping it works! We just started. I do like the shampoo in itself and the smell. Same for the detangler which I use everyday for my 3 daughters. So far I’m satisfied and will keep ordering. Let’s see when there is an outbreak of lice at school then i’ll Update my review.Update: after using this product for about 2 months... my daughter got lice!!! I was using the conditioning spray EVeRy day. And the shampoo every other day. And I always tied her hair real high and tight. So disappointing that it didn’t work. My daughter and I used this last year on granddaughter and we never had an issue with lice. This year we forgot and ended up with lice. Went back to this and added shampoo after treating head. We spray everyday when getting ready for school also I give a quick spray to backpack and back of shirt, sweater or jacket up around neck. My daughter has the perfect hair for lice, and she got it one or two times in kindergarten, and first grade, and second grade. We kept spending hundreds of dollars at the lice clinic. Over-the-counter lice kits stopped working, and the lice clinic products stopped working. A friend recommended this product, and IT WORKS! I bought it back in August, and my daughter has spent all of third grade (so far) lice-free!She washes her hair twice a week with the shampoo, and we spray her hair on school days, and it’s been perfectly effective!
