I'm making a concerted effort to consistently take my eye vitamins. In the past couple of years I have noticed more eye strain and other eye issues. It was recommended by my (and my husband's) ophthalmologist to take lutein, and while I had gotten some I havent stuck with it. Now I am. So here I am. I have a few varieties by this company, so I will be taking something by them in similar formula for quite some time to come. I got them also for my husband to use, but I suspect I will be taking them. Most all provide some sort of supporting supplementation above and beyond lutein. Some have more lutein, some have less. This 15 mg (per 2 capsule serving) is reasonable. Price is reasonable for one month supply, though I dont rate on price.Early impression rating of 4. All seems fine, I just cant attest yet to true effectiveness. I can say that the capsules are easy to swallow, no digestive upset, no burping up flavors. When it comes to supplements, some you feel and see differences right away. Others, it takes quite some time.SIZEThe capsules are standard size with powder in them. I started on Lutein a few years ago. My vision improved after the first year of Lutein. Generally, I would take 20 mg per day. The VisiVite provides 15 mg of Lutein, but only for two capsules; that is 7.5 mg per capsule. This is a much smaller amount than I am accustomed to. On the other hand, the VisiVite has in addition to Lutein: Zeaxanthin, Astanthin, Bilberry, Grapeseed, Black Currant, and Turmeric, which may help to make up for the Lutein content. Read more
What I like best about this supplement is that it contains bilberry along with other eye supporting ingredients. The capsules are easy to swallow. I regularly take eye supplements so it is hard to gauge any impact. It is on a par with other quality supplements. The bilberry truly makes a difference with night time driving.
