We have these gates all over the house and they're wonderful. It's a sturdier and easier to use option that keeps little ones out of spaces they shouldn't be in, but while still being worlds easier than those classic baby gates tend to be on us grownups. Climbing over those is tough, but simply opening the door to this gate and walking through is quite easy!The system itself is easy to "install" - and by that I mean there's no real installation because you don't have to drill into the wall to anchor the gate at all. It uses tension to keep itself in place, and it does a good job of it - the gate stays put even though it's used in a high-traffic area and the doors are slammed quite often by an eager toddler who loves to open and close. Occasionally, the gate will come askew when someone has bumped it while carrying laundry or hurrying through with a backpack, but it just takes a nudge to level it back out.Overall I'm very happy with this product and I feel it's a more attractive and user-friendly version of the classic baby gates that have you climbing over them to get through, or taking them up altogether every time company comes over because they're just too unsightly to leave in place. This provides a more visually appealing option for those areas of the house that just need something a little more upscale. While it is a bit more expensive, it is also a much hardier and more sturdy gate than the classic, too - with considerably more ease of use as well. Easy to set up in the doorway.Does a fine job of keeping the pets from going where we don't want them to.Even better that this one is super easy to walk through anytime with just a down push and pull of the handle.Like that it is not white but black and goes so much better with other things around it.You just adjust the spindle style rods on the sides of this one.With older houses this is a good one because each corner you can adjust to fit the wall independently. I've installed a trillion of these so install was simple. My kids break a baby gate about every 6 months. I expect this to last the same amnt of time. They climb them, and they're rough. Honestly I don't know why we even bother with them anymore, but we do. I love the black color. White gates show little dirty handprints, whereas this darker color does not. Read more
