This is a great shampoo. Hair feels very clean afterwards - the conditioners are lightweight and non-greasy, but manage to make your hair soft and tangle-free. The thickening effect DOES seem to work, at least on fine hair - after washing, hair feels light and fluffy, but still silky rather than frizzy. I have straight hair and my fiance has wavy hair, and this shampoo works for both of us. I'm not sure what effect it would have on curly hair. The scent is subtle, herbal, just on the "masculine" side of androgynous if you really feel the need to attach gender qualities to smells. I previously used Nioxin for anti-hair loss/thickening, but in 2015 or 2016 they changed their ingredients and the product definitely stopped working for me. I was looking for something new (and affordable) to try. I came upon Every Man Jack and saw positive reviews. I started using this about 10 days ago and I'm already noticing a few thinner areas of my hair appear to be a bit thicker. The smaller "baby hairs" at my widow's peak have grown out as well.The smell and tingling sensation when applied in the shower is also a great wake-me-up in the mornings. I have thin short hair. (Not balding just always thin). I used to use a similar shampoo but can no longer find it. Before this stuff I used to skip conditioning as it made my thin fine hair too soft, but this is the first two in one I have absolutely loved. I'm a simple dude. I find a brand of underwear I like (Duluth) a deodorant (old spice swagger antiperspirant and deodorant) and now my shampoo. I use this till they stop making it. Read more

As I enter my 50s, the texture of my hair has begun to change (dang hormones). Where it was once thick, fine, and slick, it is now thinning, fine, and wirier (if that's a word). As a result, the products I used to use are no longer appropriate or effective for my hair texture. I have tried countless combinations and permutations of products to get my hair to keep from looking as if it is trying to escape my head. No conditioner I tried would keep it at bay. In no way did I ever think a 2-in-1 would help the 'thatch', but this caught my eye as I was scrolling through hair products (yet again) and as I'd tried everything else, I thought I'd give it a shot.In short, this works for me. Not only does it save time (and space) in the shower as I no longer have two separate products, it makes my hair as close to its former texture as it's been in a long time and considerably easier to style. The smell is nice and not overpowering. For reference I have straight, shoulder length, color-treated hair. It hasn't seemed to strip my color at all, so that's another huge plus for me. Have only been using for a week but I do notice some thickening in my hairline, which is what I was looking for. The smell is great! I also love the fact that it is a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner.
