The base plate is narrower than a standard outlet cover plate, so it may not cover the entire opening in the drywall (see picture). This can be a hazard too because something slender could fit in that gap and make contact with the electrical connection on the plug. Also, the openings in the sides for the cord to exit are awkwardly placed and it can be hard to route a cable through there, especially if it's a thicker cable. Read more
This is my favorite plug cover. I love that it’s clear. I didn’t follow the instructions of removing the faceplate and instead installed it over my existing faceplate since the screws or came with were extra long. Extremely happy with this purchase and just bought a second one. For reference, I have tried four other plug covers, this one wins hands down. I will add, my son is more interested in this one though than the opaque ones (but he can’t get in). Read more
Overall not bad. It fits nice and snug to the receptacle. I liked that the holes for the cords were on the side since we were hoping to plug in our baby monitor and sound machine. They both plug in horizontally, and to my disappointment this cover wasn’t wide enough for our Hatch sound machine. My advice is to make sure what you want to plug in is going to fit. We're using it to protect an outlet in the vicinity of our pitbull's dog bed (limited space, PETA, go away). He always threatens the cable being ripped out by his rolling around. 5 stars for this outlet/wire box. This has been such a great purchase for my sons room. He could easily take out the outlet covers and he was constantly pulling out the cords to his lamp and fan and this stops/protects him from doing that. Super easy to install and would highly recommend for your little mischievous into everything toddlers. Read more
The covers were super easy to install. Simply screw off the regular cover and screw this one on instead. It works great with regular cords, but I found my three prong cord only fits on the top outlet with the cover on and so I am only able to use one outlet with this type of cord where I would normally put this one in the bottom so could still use the top one. Pretty minor issue given I don't have a ton of cords like this plugged in regularly. The toddler isn't able to open it, but I can open it easily with one hand. Read more
These version are actually compatible with electrical outlet codes in Canada, unlike the Safety 1st version which are outdated.They seem a little expensive for what they are. They don’t include cord a management feature like many of the other models.At the end of the day, they get the job done and my couches are no longer constantly being unplugged by my toddler. It comes with both types of outlet covers but the one that I didn't need was the one installed. Took almost an hour of messing around with it to get it off to put the other one on. Thought I was going to break it but didn't. Works well other than that. Read more
