We tried Halo Sleep Sack, Swaddle Me, and Ergobaby Swaddle and Ergobaby was the winner for us!In short this worked better for:1. Houdini arms2. Gas pain wake ups3. Wrapping simplicityThe long version:1. We tried basic swaddle blankets; double swaddling, the little arm wrap twist up before tucking the swaddle, stretchy blankets, big blankets... all the swaddle blankets. Baby had her arms unwrapped in less than 20 mins of sleeping. We borrowed a halo swaddle and swaddle me... The swaddle me was the easiest sleep sack to put baby in so if you aren't worried about a jail break check them out! But they are the flimsiest so baby was free in minutes (especially our petite baby who we couldn't get a snug fit for).We likely the halo sleep sack and it bought us longer stretches of time without the arms breaking out so we purchased one of our own. The downside was the gas pain our baby had...2. Poor babe had a dairy intolerance are was horribly gassy from day 2 or 3. She screamed in discomfort and laying flat on her back bundled up only made it harder for her to pass any gas. This is why we love the Ergobaby! instead of being a stiff burrito, she was securely swaddled at her arms, but her hips and legs were free to move around inside the blanket pouch! This seemed to help her ability to work out gas during the night and stay asleep better.3. It's pretty easy to get the hang of the arm swaddle (kind of a tiny, cute straight jacket). Fast to get baby in and out of. The bottom pouch is not detachable like I assumed, so if your baby is hot there is some breathability with it on or baby's legs can come out of the pouch to breath but the pouch would be bunched up underneath baby if not in use. This was the ONLY swaddle my baby couldn't get out of! Read more
Let me start off by saying that we used this swaddle for our now 17 month old when she was an infant. It wasn’t perfect- the Velcro quality was terrible and she could escape because of that- but it kept her more contained than some of the others we had tried. So, when I had my son I immediately ordered 3. I couldn’t be more disappointed. While the quality of the Velcro seems to have been improved, the fabric is totally different than before. The new fabric is more like a jersey sheet. While it is soft, it’s SUPER stretchy, which means that my newborn is able to easily break free, making him restless through the night (and making for sleepless parents!) We have tried reswaddling him and he is still able to get out due to the stretchy fabric. I don’t know why the company decided to change it. If they had kept the original fabric and improved the Velcro, it would have been perfect. Instead, they fixed one flaw and created a new one. I am super disappointed and will be ordering a different brand. Read more
I really wanted to love this. I needed to love this. My son has colic and reflux really badly and I was scrambling trying to find ways to comfort him and help him sleep. This was a big let down for me. My son was 10lbs and didn't fit it. The arm pockets made his arms sit weirdly across his chest in an unnatural way and was too tight. It made him so uncomfortable. I got him wrapped in it for about 3 min before he was screaming and I had to release him. I'm really bummed because I needed a solution and a win, but this was NOT it. I'll stick to Muslim blankets and just wrap him up myself. Read more
My husband and I never quite got the hang of swaddling blankets. Our baby is Houdini reincarnated and always managed to wriggle out of them. Luckily, we live in the 21st century and a capitalist society and somebody solved this problem for us. Enter the ergo baby swaddle. Super easy to use, (mostly) kept our baby contained through the night, the material is soft and easy to wash, and the flapped bottom makes it easy to do night time diaper changes. Will definitely be getting these as baby shower gifts for friends. Read more
We have two of these. The cupcake is cloth. The grey one is stretchy fabric. Use both depending on the situation, but mostly the cupcake one. They've worked very well and will save them for baby #2. Read more
Great material and intelligent design, but my child doesn’t like how loose it is.The fabric pouches where the arms insert are the weakness- he still flails around and has pulled threads loose inside to the point where they get wrapped around his fingers. The leg separating strap is a great idea for keeping babies on their back, but it limits the type of pajamas you can use. I prefer the nightgowns and that isn’t compatible with the leg strap. Read more
The fabric is soft and thick. The sheep design is adorable. That's where my love for this swaddle stops. As others have mentioned, there's a thick seam right across the middle back. But the main reason I don't like this thing is the Velcro is weak. My little guy easily busted free. I could never get it snug enough because of the way it's designed. If you've got a Houdini who loves to be swaddled, try the Embe. Super easy to use and very secure. Plus you can do legs in or out. Read more
I don't normally leave reviews, but I'm pretty disappointed with this swaddle especially with all the great reviews and how excited I was to try it with my baby. I love the design but he's only 7 weeks old and within the weight limit and it didn't even fit him. Granted he is quite long, but even with the bottom velrco piece as low as it would go, it's tight on him and has to be worn awkwardly around his shoulders. He's also able to wiggle out of the weak velcro. I'm just overall very disappointed. I would love it if it fit him properly. Read more
Very effective design. But my baby didn't like it and the way it folds up at the bottom looks kind of odd. Read more
