I bought a Contour Next + when my doctor said my A1C came back high and a few days later I go the Embrace talk from my insurance provider. My advice just pay the $20 for the Contour Next, initially, I used the Contour Next Plus because it has a handy Bluetooth feature that helped me track then I ran out of test strips so I switched to the Embrace Talk I have had to use 2-3 strips plus 2-3 lancets and stick myself 2-3 times to get a good reading several times since switching.I know this can get expensive so if you're stuck using the Embrace get everything set up and test quickly the Contour has a feature so if you don't get enough blood (which I found uncommon with the Contour) you can just add some more the Embrace doesn't have that and it seems not to draw the blood into the strip was well so I found not getting enough pretty common. Probably a third of the time the meter says sample too small and I have to stick myself again and waste a test strip. Not cool! It seems to happen if my hand shakes a little when applying what I know is an adequate droplet to the strip so it doesn't wick in fast enough. Just a guess, but still an irritation. (The meter was supplied via pharmacy per my insurance, so not an Amazon purchase.) I do use 33 gauge lancets, so virtually no pain except exasperation. Read more
I have two others. Purpose of one more is to not carry the meter from one room/ place to the next. Very easy as it speaks outloud. Really nice Read more
