I bought this after a fairly satisfactory experience with the elta MD Clear UV SPF 46 for sensitive skin. I purchased this one because the other has gone significantly higher in price, and thought that since they are both EltaMD line, it couldn't be too bad.Overall, as a sunscreen, it does its job. Now if you're think about getting this, please read that line carefully "For Oily to Normal skin." This means it is NOT at all suitable for dry skin. I have dry and sensitive skin, even though I don't get reaction from the sunscreen, it's very very flaky on the skin. And this is AFTER applying lotion AND argan oil as a base.The picture quality is not very high but around the mouth area, you can see the white flakes. And yes, it has a rather strong white cast, but is not staining or anything.So overall, I would recommend it if you are short on budget with other EltaMD products or you do have oily skin. Read more

This is the sunscreen I always return to. This is my third bottle, and I use it daily. I use a lot of Asian beauty products, and am occasionally lured away from Elta MD by the siren's song of Japanese and Korean sunscreens. So far, they haven't worked out for me, and I always come back to this.Pros: When used in the recommended amount, it protects skin well from the sun, prevents sun-related pigmentation, isn't excessively oily after application, has a smooth/non-sticky texture, is suitable under foundation and/or powder, absorbs well, and is unscented.Cons: Has a significant white cast (while this is not an issue for me, it would likely be problematic for darker skin tones), is a bit pricey since I use it daily and go through a lot, and is ever so slightly drying.For reference, I am a 34 year old woman, whose skin is combination (generally oily with dry sides and jaw), very sensitive, acne-prone, and quite light in tone (MAC shade C1). I really like this. For comparison, I had been using the EltaMD Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 40 for the last year and I actually like this one better. I had originally chose the "moisturizing sunscreen" because of the hyaluronic acid content (I have dry skin from tretinoin use), but I really didn't find it hydrating enough - my skin would be dry and flaky by lunch and makeup didn't look great over it because it would settle in the dry spots. This one is way better. It isn't marketed for dry skin, in fact, it says "normal to oily" but I find it wears much better on my dry skin. It's not greasy at all, and it's not exactly hydrating (I do think oilier skinned folks would be happy with this), yet somehow I don't feel like my my skin is completely dehydrated at the end of the day anymore. I'm not sure if this is related but I've also found that my skin is clearer when using this? I never noticed until I switched to this that the other sunscreen was making me break out. +10 points for the higher SPF (45 vs 40 in the moisturizing sunscreen), and the larger bottle. The best! I've searched too long for the best sunscreen. I've probably tried 50 products. This one is awesome in every way. It is actually transparent once you spread it around enough. It is easy to rub in (no tugging or irritation). I can even put it on my lips, which are much darker than my skin, and no white at all. It is not thick. It leaves your skin silky smooth and soft but is not greasy at all. It doesn't pill or ball up. It's not sticky. It doesn't smell like perfume. It's alcohol-free. It doesn't sting or tingle. It has some physical blockers, which means it doesn't have to be reapplied as often as long as you're able to keep it in place. It goes well under makeup. It doesn't flake off. I can put it right up next to my eyes and it doesn't make them sting. You won't be able to tell you have it on. It's far better than expensive ones like Kiehl's, Lancome, La Roche Posay, and Benefit. I know I have a sensitive skin and can't use just any sunscreen, so I tried many other brands before, some were great, others, less great (caused eye and skin irritations) and more like this one, which dries my skin within a few hours! It's easy to apply and I like the fact there isn't any fragrance. I thought this one would be ok since it was advertised as a product dedicated to sensitive skins. My skin even started to peel off after a few days of use.This one was recommended by a friend, so I didn't pay much attention to the ingredients, but some listed aren't that inocuous (e.g. phenoxyethanol).By the way, I despise brands which feel the need to pretend they're Swiss in some ways, although they aren't at all (I know, I'm Swiss and live in Switzerland 3/4 of the year - never ever heard or seen this brand anywhere in Switzerland). Love this product. Originally suggested by my dermatologist, I’m very glad I listened. It is noncomedogenic (won’t clog pores) virtually fragrance free and Spf 50. I have troubled skin from sun damage and severe acne in my younger years. I use it after moisturizing in the morns and then apply make up if I’m going too. I do not leave the house without it and radiograph shows no new sin damage after a year of working outside 3 to 4 days per week. I've used this sunblock on my face and neck every day for almost 2 years now and it's an absolute necessity in my skincare routine. I have sensitive, very fair, combination skin and this sunblock never breaks me out and never feels oily on the skin. I live in Florida where religious sunscreen application is a must for someone of my complexion and I've never been burned as long as I've used this product. I will say that if I'm planning on being in direct sunlight for most of the day, or when I'm on the water, I swap this out for something water resistant with a higher SPF, but this is my absolute favorite. It wears well under makeup too, including full foundation, and the zinc oxide formula is truly transparent. It doesn't take forever to rub into my skin and it doesn't leave a white sheen that some other zinc oxide products on the market are apt to do. Muy buen producto, es un filtro solar muy adecuado y amigable con pieles sensibles, mi piel tiene etapas que se irrita por todo y este bloqueador solar es muy gentil, no arde, prácticamente no tiene aroma, es ligero, claro teniendo en cuenta que es filtro físico y siempre dejan un aspecto blanquecino aunque se adapta pasando unos 20 minutos, no deja el rostro con brillo, por el contrario a lo largo del día se matifica, por lo que considero es bueno para pieles con tendencia a grasa. Por fin encontré el protector solar ideal para mí. Tengo piel grasosa, había usado otros protectores pero siempre me hacían lucir la cara aún más grasosa y blanca. Incluso creo que eran causantes de algunos granos que me brotaban. Pero con este es todo lo contrario, tu piel se ve sana y sin evidente rastro del producto. Es súper fácil de aplicar y por mi parte no me irrita para nada como los ojos. Aunque es un poco caro creo que está muy bien con la cantidad de producto que tiene a comparación con otros protectores solares minerales. Me lo recomendó mi dermatóloga y hasta el momento me ha gustado, no arde y queda mate y es de muy ligero.El único pero que quizá le pondría es que siento que quizá para mi tipo de piel lo llego a sentir un poco resecante (soy piel sensible y extremadamente seca) pero todo lo demás si me ha gustado; quizá para el tiempo de verano vendría mejor en una piel seca que en tiempo de invierno.Considero que para piel mixta a grasa resultaría muy bueno.
