When I first got this highlighter, I was so disappointed, mainly because I love E.L.F. so I expected a lot. When I tried it the first time, I used a brush to apply it, and NOTHING happened. I was so upset that I even considered returning it. So glad I didn't. What I decided to try worked like magic and now I LOVE LOVE LOVE this highlighter.Folks, believe me, try this: Use a damp beauty blender. When it's damp (not wet), rub the baked highlighter, then lightly pat the highlighter onto your preferred highlighting areas. I have to admit I was a little baffled to see some less-than-favorable reviews on this because my experience with it has been AMAZING. It is exactly what I wanted - a highlighter color with a little bit of shimmer. I have happily and successfully used it as an eyeshadow all by itself, as the lightest shade of eyeshadow in conjunction with darker colors, and as a highlighter to brush across my cheekbones in lieu of blush. I love that it's self-contained in its own little pod. (I never seem to go through colors evenly and hate carrying around whole pallettes, even relatively small ones, with only one or two colors left). I didn't have to break it or anything, as other reviewers have mentioned doing, and I am extremely pleased that it doesn't require a brush. I just swipe a finger through it and apply and I'm done. It's clean and easy and quick and fantastic for travel or busy work or summer days when you want to look nice with no fuss. I've gotten lots of compliments on it.Other people have said it doesn't show up on them at all, but I have pretty fair skin (usually second or third darkest foundation available in any given line, for reference) and it shows up nicely for me. So I’m not trying to rip on this product, just prefer others. First of all - value for money- it cost me like 35% more on Amazon than a local ELF dealer (grocery store, pharmacy) - but I live far away from such things.My skin color is fairly “tan”. Kind of an olive skin going on. VERY light brown/blonde-ish hair as a youth, yet skin that tans easily. Tricky to find foundations that aren’t too light or dark. I protect my face, but am outside a lot, and my skin holds it’s tan , so my face is always a bit pale looking.So I was kind of looking for something to kind of lighten a slightly too dark foundation or give it a sun kissed glow of sorts.The Apricot is not for me. It gives a thick ( not good sheerness) gold sheer as if I were on stage! It leaves me with a painted on look. After brushing round and smearing with my hands. (Ie not easy to use for me)I think this would be great for a younger person looking for that sprayed on magazine cover look as long as a strong dark gold is flattering for them.I also think it would be flattering for someone with really dark skin wanting to highlight their cheek bones when blush doesn’t stand out quite enough.But ya, it’s an odd color- the apricot doesn’t really come through. It’s as it looks, GOLD.And the texture ends up quite thick - it doesn’t go on as sheer as a true powder.A beauty queens dream, I guess:)Think I’ll try applying to my cheek bones tomorrow with my fingers as opposed to an all over brightener. I did not care to much for this item the price was amazing but the quality was not I felt like it was to hard and my brush could not pick up any of the product, I had to scrap some off with my Twisters just to get it on my brush and then you could not even see any of it on my face. I was looking for a cheap highlighter because most run expensive and I would never spend too much money on this product. A highlighter that I used forever and loved I could not find anymore so I went on a search and found this. I LOVE this highlighter. I followed other reviews and wiped the first layer off with a towel because there must be some coating over top, and it works and looks beautiful now. Read more

This E.l.f. Studio Baked Highlighter is a bit harder to see than I expected and a bit lighter also, light as far as coverage not color being it doesn't show very well. I got the Moonlight shade. It seems I have to put a few layers on to get it to show. So I am not too impressed with it but it is not bad. I do not think I will personally purchase it again but it may work for others better. I usually just sweep it on the highest point of my cheek bone kind of under my outer eye area. Sometime I sweep it over my cupids bow also and maybe a tad under my outer brow area. Read more

Reviews looked great but I was so disappointed. I'm not sure if it's suppose to come like this but it felt very dry. Not very silk. My brushes won't pick up product. I used my fingers to do a swatch and still barely product was lifted from the highlighter. Read more

Love it! ELF cosmetics are totally fabulous! I have hyper sensitive skin and could only wear clinique products, or I would get horrible rashes, where my skin would split and bleed and look like I had burns all over my face. My neighbor had some ELF foundation and asked me to try it on a tiny patch of my hand...nothing happened...so we put a bit on my forehead and waited...NOTHING HAPPENED! I didn't have a volcano erupt on my face, it was great! I don't wear make up frequently, maybe once or twice a year, but it is nice to have a product that I can wear that doesn't burn my skin off!
