Very disappointed and feels like a chainsaw in my mouth. I've got a few days left to return it but dont know what elese to try. I was using a Braun Professional Care Type 4736 toothbrush for 10 years and it was absolutely awesome. The old one had a high quality, very solid build and great ergonomics, Best of all it had a very smooth brushing mechanism that had a great feel on the teeth and gums even at top speed. It finally died and I bought this 7000 and hate it! Very rough on the teeth unless you turn it to low speed. Has a very cheap feel. Yesterday this chainsaw slipped and cut the inside of my mouth which is killing me. Oral-B seems to be putting the money into bells and whistles versus a quality brushing mechanism. I dont want bluetooth, buzzers and blinking lights. I want a quality toothbrush. The old Brauns were made in Germany with quality. This is over-priced cheap Chinese junk. Read more
When I read on this toothbrush I did not see anywhere saying that I was refurbished. The toothbrush is used and it doesn't even look like anyone bothered to clean it before the shipment. Read more
I hesitantly give this 3 stars. It has been a few months since I bought this after my Sonicare completely died after less than 2 years.Does the brush work? Yep.Can you sync it to your iPhone? Yep.Does that work well? Not really, I only looked at the app a few times. What else is neat? Well the unit that is supposed to work outside of the app for your phone never worked, it just gave me weird numbers and confused smiley faces the whole time before I decided it was defective and stopped trying to use it.The main problem I have is after about 3 months of use the battery drains quickly and if I put it on the charger after about 2 days use of 3 minute brushings twice a day it soaks up a full 1.5 to 2 day charge. This is not normal. It seems battery issues will continue to plague these things. It's a great concept but buyer beware, the batteries for whatever reason don't seem to be up to snuff for electric toothbrushes. Maybe if you're a very sloppy brusher and brush under a min. this will be ok, but for those of us seeking better hygiene and fresher breath this doesn't seem to cut it.If Tesla can build electric cars that go hundreds of miles it shouldn't be asking too much to get a toothbrush for a couple hundred bucks that lasts a while. When it worked, it was a great product. However, it stoped working just one month after the two year warranty. To figure out why, I opened the case with instruction videos from YouTube. Then I noticed the whole brush is completely rusted! This thing is not waterproof at all, no wonder it will fail. Read more
Works great! Battery is not so good so i charge it more often but that's not a deal breaker. It is a bit loud as I've read in a few reviews. I hardly use the app and don't use that clock thing. Great upgrade from my oral B 1000 I believe it was.UPDATE: battery is worse and I have to charge it every other day now. It's annoying. Read more
I've used a cheap spin-brush pro for close to 10 years and saw a significant improvement in my dental health from it at dentist visits, but lately I've gotten tired of the decreased battery life and it missing some places in interdental regions. I decided to take the plunge and purchase an over-priced oral B. I have no desire to use bluetooth function or any of the bells or whistles but I compared the 5500, 7000, and genius 8000 versions all in black. The final decision went to price, discounts available, and whether replacement heads and a travel case was present. So I went with the 7000.Unboxing- the box is as unnecessarily complicated as the brush. I should've taken a picture of all the boxes within boxes within folds, it covered over half my queen-size bed. They could take a lesson from Ikea, the total box size could've been halved with far less packaging.Anyway, The brush is attractive, not over-bearingly/fatiguingly heavy, but is NOT all black. The whole sides are silver plastic and all the heads are white. The cord/charger are white and the cord is a bit stiff with lots of memory so I had to use cord clips and a tie to train it/tuck it out of the way along my mirror. The cord is a decent length but it can't stray far from a vanity or sink area so plan accordingly with your bathroom outlet set up. Not a secure fit onto charger but charger base doesn't slide around and sits nicely on surfaces. It came with a large fold out user manual bigger than most of my other electronics. It came with a booklet of coupons WHICH WERE EXPIRED 7/31/2018 (I purchased item 1/13/19)The travel case has a nice feel but you have to remove heads to use it, there are slots for 2 heads. There is a separate plastic/rubbery pouch for the charger/cable I'm assuming? Too much of hassle, an ideal travel case would fit everything in one place so you don't forget anything and can grab one thing when you need to brush your teeth. There is a surround-snap-on head holder that fits over the charger that I won't use. Then there is the smart control device which takes 2 AAA batteries (comes with duracell AAA's!). The design is poor as to change settings, sync the device etc, the buttons are hidden- you have to unsnap the device from the mirror holder case, and remove the back plate of the device itself to access the buttons and batteries. It has a clock feature on the left, a smiley (and potentially frownie) face on the left, and other places where TINY icons will appear based on what you're doing with the brush itself.I started charging the brush at around 8:30 pm and it can take up to 24 hours to fully charge the first time. Mine took over 20 hours. They want you to keep it on the charger all the time saying it's "impossible to over-charge" but that they recommend fulling discharging the unit at least every 6 months. There is no reassuring click/clunk/chonk/snap when you put the phone on the charger- it just sits and can wobble on the post. The brush itself is only semi-sturdy sitting upright on surfaces- It can take a mild brush/wobble of a few degrees in any direction and stay upright, but for the price I'd be scared to leave it lying around upright where it could get knocked. The manual specifically states it's FORBIDDEN to be dropped. The brush functions/motion is good but there is heavy vibration of the whole handle, more than others I've tested. The custom light up colors, sensors, functions seem to work well but I am only using 1-2. There are 2 timing settings - profession which breaks down sections by 30 seconds or just the regular 2 minute timer. Deep clean timer is 3 minutes. Pressure sensor function works and gives warnings with lights and visuals. One day if I'm bored and twiddling my thumbs I'll test set up and connectivity with my cell phone (Samsung Note 8) but I have no intention of using/keeping an app for this long term ever.I'm happy with the brushing function and mouth feel afterwards, the rest is all unnecessary. The price on amazon was discounted to $110.24 (still too much), I used a coupon discount for $20 off, a gift card for $18, and $36 in rewards pounts to make this less than $40 out of pocket. So my judgement of long term value and durability will be based on both prices. If you really read the manual it tells conflicting stories of it a) being built to survive in a bathroom (where heat/humidity is absolutely assumed), but warns that b) it shouldn't be used in the bath/shower, be submerged, or getting the handle wet. It also wants you to dismantle and wipe/clean the unit after every use. Based on some pictures from other users, it does seem there is some rusting/corrosion issues, so it's unclear if its just from existing in the bathroom environment or if those units were cleaned regularly, or if there were leaks in the casing rendering them not actually water proof or even resistant. It comes with 3 heads - cross brush, 3D white, and sensitive brush. After using this for several days, I've learned there are things you can't do. You can't apply toothpaste and turn it on. The brush has to be in your mouth against your teeth and behind your lips before you can turn it on, otherwise it flings toothpaste EVERYWHERE with surprising velocity and arc. This is a pain because you have to fumble to hit the mode button which is hidden from sight in the mirror against you while using the brush if you want to change the mode right away. I also can't fit the normal amount of toothpaste on the little head so I have to stop and reapply for the bottom teeth halfway through my brushing to continue.I still find the brush doing a great job and the timer definitely prevents me from taking short cuts. I'd recommend this brush to others based on my experiences thus far, but only if you can get it heavily discounted and only if you are not easily stressed. Read more

This is only used by me, one person. So it's not from over-use. I only charge the toothbrush when the battery indicator is low and I charge for a day or overnight, just like most devices should be done. I don't leave it on for longer than 8 hours. After less than a year of use, it no longer charges. I place it on the charging base and the charging light does not go on, nor does it charge. I regret not buying the warranty. Read more
This toothbrush works. And while the toothbrush isn't a 2 star item, the entire package definitely is. I've wanted this toothbrush for years. Always lusted after it. Finally I decided to treat myself to this. Wow. So disappointed. Let me explain it all to you.The Bad:THE CHARGER: For any toothbrush over $100 I would expect a nice charger. Something substantial. And, look at the photos of the charging base with this brush - that looks great! But it's not. Not at all. First, have you seen those Oral-B electric toothbrushes you can buy for $15 that have the charging dock? I mean for $15 you get the charging dock and the electric brush. I ordered one of those cheap ones for my child. The charger included in the $15 set is model 3757. The model included with this set? 3757. You see that nice picture of the big sturdy dock in this set? No. It's not like that. It's a little $1 charger base, that you then click on 2 more pieces of $0.25 plastic onto it to make it look big an sturdy. It's a rip off. Som, that means then the brush must be worth the $150 itself right?THE BRUSH: Have you gone to the grocery store, and bought one of those $7 electric children's brushes that run on AA battery? If you have used one of those, then you know what to expect here. See, I come from a competing brand of electric toothbrush that was different. This Oral-B is the exact same style, and type of brush head, and head movement as the $7 one my child graduated from. I couldn't believe it. That doesn't mean this doesn't work well, it does. But - where does all the $ go to? Ok, it's because it's Bluetooth and has the little happy face guy right? Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. If it was, I would at least, at the very least expect some basic memory features on the brush. What do I mean? I have sensitive teeth. The brush has 5 settings, with one of them being sensitive. So, I turn on the brush - it starts at full power and the timer starts running. with toothpaste flying all over - i need to hit the button on the brush a few times to switch it to sensitive. then i can put in my mouth. I'll clean up the mess later. But - next time I use the brush, as least it will remember I turned it off on sensitive and start there right? Nope. Every single time - you need to go and tell the brush - only after it is started - what setting you want to use. It's ridiculous. You CAN use the phone app to change settings, even move some settings from the brush. You shouldn't need to download a phone app - to make these basic changes.THE OK:THE BRUSH HEADS: They are brush heads. They seem to work, again, the same as the $7 ones you get from the grocery store. There's no pulsing, vibration like you feeling with other brands. This feels cheap.THE 'CASE': so you put the cheap, plastic $2 base station together - and it lets you hold 5 brush heads. 3 of which are supplied. THat's ok. It's still cheap garbage though.THE GOOD:PRESSURE DETECTION: I grew up brushing too hard. I don't anymore - but I did test that on this brush and it emits a nice bright red light from the back of the brush to warn you if you apply too much pressure.THE HAPPY GUY: So this guy counts to 30, 4 times. Shows you what quadrant of your mouth to brush. It works fine. Shows you what setting your brush is on. Easy to set time on it. Made me realize I used to only brush about 1 minute total for the last 45 years. Now 2 minutes seems normal.CONCLUSION: There is no way this is worth anywhere what it sells for. I would say this is worth $80 at the most. Then maybe other companies would also start pushing cool tech brushes and real, well made base stations and chargers to create some competition. You can get the same performance for $15 from Oral-B on Amazon - just without the fancy tech. Even the $15 comes with extra brush heads. Read more
This is a Christmas gift so I can’t comment yet on how it works or opinions of the actual product, but when I opened the amazon box the Oral-B box inside was already open and had a small tear. Not something you really like to see when you’re gifting something and it’s such a personal item. Was it returned? Did someone else already have it opened and changed their mind? If so did they actually handle the toothbrush? The box should have been closed and sealed. The next time I see it in store I will be looking to see if they are sealed. Read more
I bought this way back in 2015 and it is the best toothbrush I have ever used. My teeth always feel dentist fresh after use and I LOVE that you can use the app to track your brushings! The travel package it comes with is also incredibly convenient. The charge lasts me 2 weeks, and one overnight charge is all it takes to get it back up and running again. This is my favourite toothbrush. Although the actual brush heads are kind of expensive (I get the off-brand ones), It's saved me a lot of money with the dentist :) Read more
When I ordered this tooth brush it was described as new. It was indeed new in the box but when I opened it I noticed that there was a coupon in the box for $3.00 off towards the purchase of a new replacement brush head. The expiry date on it was Dec. 31 2018. I was concerned about the warranty so I called Oral-B and they were able to tell me that this brush was manufactured in Aug. 2018. They told me the warranty starts the day I ordered it. If there is a problem with it you need your proof of purchase. Other than this I love it. This is my 3rd Oral -B brush that I have owned. Great product Read more
