I love this hair gel! I've been using it for about 20 years now! I order it all the time. This is a product that is one of my favorite go to items for my hair. Very easy to use it saves my hair from flyways every single time. It says flake free but it will flake up in your hair with continuous use if you do not wash it out EVERYDAY. So, I co-wash my hair a lot and it works just fine. Never had any issues or problems with this product. I only wish that it was more organic. 🙄 There's a challenge on YouTube where people do eco styler hair gel vs. flaxseed Gel. Some ppl say you cannot tell the difference but I just don't have the time to make my own hair gel right now, so this will do. It used to cost five dollars for an 80 ounce tub where i used to live but since moving to Hawaii, I haven't been able to find it out here anywhere. So, I order it off of Amazon, even though it is way more expensive, sometimes I catch a good sell. Also, over the years, I have cut my hair numerous times, and because this hair gel helps your hair to retain moisture it also helps it grow faster! This is my biased opinion and mine alone. I can not speak for others. But this stuff has really helped my hair experience growth quicker than normal. I tell everyone I know about this hair gel. It is truly amazing. Also, I mix it with a little water. But it NEVER gets too hard in my hair. It's perfect. The clear, original one works best for me. Doesn’t really help 4c natural hair (the wool stuff) lay flat. If you want a curl, mix it with a Shea cream or it will dry out your hair. It can make nice curls depending on your hair texture. It worked with 4C hair only if you add a Shea cream, but using to much will turn it white. It’s not that easy. I mixed it with essential oil‘s to help with dryness. It lasted for 2 days without reapplying water. It might work better with other Grades of hair, but not suggested for 4C or very woolly hair that turns into small Corkscrews when wet. This hair has ALOT of shankage. It curls up like a short Afro when it actually past shoulder length. The fact that I had to mix other product with it for my hair is why I didn’t give it 5 Stars. I used Ampro Pro Styling Gel for years and thought the ability to hold hair in place didn't get any better. I was about to reorder Ampro when I ran across this brand and the reviews. Decided to give it a try and now I'm hooked! I love this gel so much that I've even decided to overlook the huge gash in the side of the jar (the jar arrived damaged) and still use it! I have somewhat wavy, but coarse hair and Eco lays my edges down like butter. It doesn't flake and I don't have to worry about 'brown' marks getting on my necklines like I did with the Ampro gel. This the second Eco Style product I’ve used. I usually by the Olive Oil one. I really like this one, because I get better defined curls than the Olive Oil one. One the flip side it does not smooth the front of my hair as well in pony tails. I’m pretty sure with a bit more time and effort, I could get it more smooth. Both Eco Styler products are less drying than any other styling gels I’ve tried (albeit only 2 other). There’s no flaking or hardness and they complement my other products well.My hairstylist hated the idea of gel and immediately told me switch to another product. The product was extremely drying and provided terrible hold. After giving it a try for a week, I reverted back to Eco Styler. So please don’t let the fact that it’s “gel” intimidate you. I was initially quite disappointed after using this the first time - the same amount as my usual gel left my 3a long thick hair quite frizzy and dry like it had nothing in at all.However, I tried again and absolutely saturated my hair with gel, to the point where I couldn't physically squelch any more in if I tried (a good palmful). I layered it on top of some boots curl creme then I diffused. Wow! So pleased with the results - the most defined I've ever seen my curls, really soft (much softer than it is naturally), bouncy, lightweight and little to no frizz, no flakes, no residue - hair looks and feels natural like there's no product in it. I love this gel, I used the CG method to wash/dry hair and added cantu curl activator and this Gel on top. It's given me a light natural hold with no flaking or crunch and with alot less frizz than usual. Can be used on dry hair the next day to refresh curls. Read more

Brilliant product, huge tub which will last ages. I have 2b/c hair and this product creates a great gel cast, but is not too hard and also doesn't weigh my hair down. It lasts in my hair for 3-4 days with minimal refreshing, and mixes well with many other hair products. Great gel, does not flake or itch, smells lovely but not overpowering, actually they could have gone up a notch with the fragrance. Defines and holds my twa coils very well. I use it every morning and there is no sticky, funky build-up. Huge tub lasts very well. Have been using the curly girl method a while now and used so many different hair products, cantu etc always had to much frizz. I’m a type 3 curl and this gel is pure amazing!!! Used after curl definer on wet hair then difussed so didn’t get any crusty curls. If do then just SOTC!!!
