This stuff is AWESOME!! My guy is a bit heavy handed and he's been killing my leg so I decided to give it a try. I'm 90 min from his shop so I put on a good thick layer before I left home, wrapped it up with cling wrap, taped the edges and we didn't remove it until he was ready to go. So it probably sat on my skin for 2+ hours. I literally could not feel anything on my shin bone. There was a couple spots I could feel a sight sting but holy santa clause sh*t for the most part it was painless. I've had the "experience" so these days I prefer the art without the pain! As for how long it lasts, it was a good 4 hours for me but maybe longer because he finished the area before it wore off completely. Maybe because I left it on so long. I have constant pain from my knee to my large toe on my left leg from a total knee replacement 7 years ago. I applied this cream to my entire leg and was relieved of most pain for around 4 hours. I am a cancer patient and am currently undergoing radiation therapy. I have tried at least 6 different OTC lidocaine products and the Numb 520 is the only one that has given me almost immediate relief and the full effects after only about 15 minutes. I cant even begin to describe how awesome it is! I've always had a phobia about needles....well I decided to get my first tattoo and I picked one of the most painful body parts( so I've been told...haha because I didnt feel a single thing)..which is the rib area. I did not use as directed.... I applied a very thick layer of cream over the area I was going to get worked on..approximately 3 hours prior to my tattoo session. I applied the thick layer and covered it with plastic wrap. When I removed the plastic 3 hours later, I still had a bunch of cream on...my skin was red...but It was completely numb. My tattoo artist did not have any issues with it and my skin was not slippery or difficult to work on. He did use alcohol to wipe it off so it wouldn't be greasy...but it was good.I was sooo skeptical prior to buy this cream ....but I'm sooo glad that I did...n sooo glad that I decided to apply an excessive amount hours before...I highly recommend this cream to anyone that will be getting a tattoo and does not have a high pain tolerance. Worked perfect for the tattoo that I got. My tattoo was about seven and a half hours. I would say that probably until the last two hours. I applied the cream about an hour before I started getting my tattoo. I would say this definitely helped so much. Mind you this was my first tattoo so I had no idea what type of pain I was going to experience. This works for numbing top layer of skin prior to getting tattoo. I have even used it a number of times past the expiration date and it is still effective. I have used it with all of my tattoos... and areas where I didn't use this cream definitely hurt worse. There was no pain in some places. i’m in the process of getting a sleeve tattoo and this product is amazing becuz it numbs my arm. here is my technique. note the longer the gel remains in skin the more numbing. i apply a coat to area or in my case my whole arm as sometimes i don’t know where tattoer will work on. once i’ve applies gel i use a small 2 gal transparent garbage bag. cut the end off and slip my arm into it wrapping than wear a long sleeve shirt or long sleeve compression shirt. so why i do this is so the gel does not dry up and allows me to drive to tattoo studio and stuff remains in my arm instead of just drying up and or smearing in clothes etc. by wrapping it up. you are keeping it wet which creates more numbing as the skin soaks all it can. once i arrive to tattoo studio i use baby wipes to clean arm. one hour of doing this means my arm remains totally numb for about 2.5hrs and i literally feel zero pain.if i know it’s a small area i’ll apply gel which it than drys up in 5min or so. i let it be like that for 20min than use baby wipes to clean off my arm and it’ll be numb for about 30min which is good enough for shading in.i highly recommend this product if i plan to do 3hr tat sessions as it will allow u to relax more. feeling less pain which means u sit still longer which is vital to getting good tattoo lines. i heard some use food wrapper cellonefane but pain in butt to do one handed trust me a small clear trash bag is really the quickest and easiest way to go plus super quick to just remove.i learnt about lidocaine and tattoos after i started it and now that i use it i can assure it has zero impact on ink or the needle going in so it’s a no brainer. i will always use this product to simply make my tat experience more enjoyable.
