This balm has been a true life saver after giving birth just two weeks ago. I had to have an episiotomy and recovery has been rough but this balm has made it much more bearable. It’s very smooth but not overally greasy. It provides instant relief down there and adds a cooling tingling sensation to everything which is nice. My vagina just feels better. I will be buying more! I had a second degree tear after my vaginal delivery and it was painful even when I sneezed; it felt like the stitches will burst out every time I put pressure anywhere on my body. Every time I urinated, I felt the burning sensation and I dreaded going to the bathroom. As a result, I searched for any and every pain-relieving remedies and decided to get Earth Mama postpartum package (Perineal Balm, Herbal Perineal Spray, Herbal Sitz Bath).I don't think the Herbal Sitz Bath had any significant healing or pain-relieving effect; just doing the hot sitz bath for 10 minutes twice a day generally helped. There was no difference when I put Herbal Sitz Bath or not. As for Herbal Perineal Spray, I did enjoy the nice refreshing cucumber scent and the cooling sensation on the area I sprayed, but again, I don't think there was any significant healing or pain relieving effect. It was better than Herbal Sitz Bath in a sense that it lifted my mood up, however, I wouldn't spend $10 on it when it doesn't serve its purpose. I did like the Perineal Balm and this is the only item I will purchase again for my future hospital bag or my pregnant friends - it contains peppermint oil that gives immediate cooling sensation that definitely relieved my pain. $11 was well spent, especially given that one container probably lasts for two months which is enough time for the wounds to heal.In conclusion, I tried so many different remedies for my second degree tear snitches and general postpartum pain - the Earth Mama postpartum package, witch hazel pads, hospital kit (Dermoplast pain relieving spray, Tronlane anesthetic cream, Dibucaine ointment 1% topical analgesic, Hydrocortisone cream 1% anti-itch cream, cold packs, peri bottle, etc.). The only three things I'll recommend for postpartum are: Earth Mama Perineal Balm, sitz bath and peri bottle. Read more

I bought it after having episiotomy during my vaginal delivery in hopes to promote healing of my scar. While menthol in this balm provides cooling effect, there is no fast healing had happened. I delivered 3 weeks ago and according to my OBGYN that I saw recently my scar is healing as expected, like in everyone else (I mean like in those women who did not use this balm). So the bottom line- use this balm if you want, but if you are low on budget, then save youR money for your baby. Read more

This product is a lovely natural alternative for soothing those pained lower areas after birth and I also found it useful for hemorrhoid flare-ups towards the end of my pregnancy. It definitely offered s cooling sensation and soothed the pain to a degree. It doesn't completely take away the pain, but it is quite a significant help. The jar is small but a little goes a long way. I still have the majority of the balm remaining but I have used all I need for my pregnancy and postpartum needs. I will look into how else I can use this... Read more

Honestly, I'm not sure if I needed this or not hit it did help. You got to be very careful though otherwise you'll end up with your clit or anus feeling like it's on fire from how cool the peppermint is.. I guess that sounds weird but if you ever had your skin on something so cold that it felt oddly hot you'd get it. Also, I used this while wearing 1 of those depends type underwear for after birth & it was summer so it didn't stay in the same area so I didn't end up living this product because of that. Probably way better for those having winter babies. A little goes a long way. I bought this when I was pregnant with my 1st baby who was born on 6.19.2020. I bought 2 to be safe. Figured I'd rather have too much than too little & maybe I can find other uses anyway which is what I'm trying to do now because I've only used half of the 1st jar & I'm healed after just 2 weeks. Sure I'm still a bit tender but that area is as healed as it's going to get. I did feel some relief but in a way the balm is so strong that I wondered if it was true relief or was it just so strong that a different feeling was distracting me so much from the pain. Definitely buy the spray though. That's an absolute must! It's not like this is expensive so it couldn't hurt to try.. just make sure you're not allergic to any of these natural ingredients, otherwise of course it'll hurt to try lol.. Read more

Earth Mama Organic Perineal Balm is great stuff and it works. It isn’t just for new moms either. Anyone with a perineum will like this stuff, in my opinion and in my personal experience of using this stuff. Whatever you may do that causes friction in this part of the body is a reason to use this balm. Such a small part of the body but it gets into the action in bicycling, walking quickly long distances to name just two activities. Add in to those sources of friction some skin dryness and some no-longer-being-a-tender-young-thing and, voila, you’re looking for some perineal kindness. Using a Q-tip as an applicator seems to be a clean and no-waste way to get the little dab of balm needed for the little but potentially powerfully vocal area: the perineum. Thanks, Earth Mama, wherever you are. Read more

I was pleasantly surprised that this balm was extremely soothing, and also therapeutic. I suffer from various issues with my pelvic floor, one of which is vulvodynia, and this balm actually works like an anesthetic. I highly recommend it as not just a product for new Mommies. Read more

Earth Mama Angel Baby is one of my favorite companies! This balm was a lifesaver after having a bum surgery and I've continued to use it since, especially after the birth of my second child. It has a cooling sensation that makes sore bottoms feel wonderful! I also love that the ingredients are natural. Read more
