Before buying this little guy I had gotten one of those rubber ducks that says if it's hot or not. Well they really don't work that great and you can't tell how much "too hot" the water is with them. I burned my little brother's foot as a kid trying to give him a bath so I've always worried about doing it to my little one as a result. This little guy will tell you and you can see it without having to flip it over like the ducks, as well as having a light to let you know. Plus you can turn it on in the room ahead of time to know if the room is too cold to do the bath in or not.Probably my favorite baby purchase for bath time. Read more

This is an outstanding product, for both kid's baths (which is why I bought it) and our own (because I realized it is handy to know the exact temp)PROS- This is 100x better than the simple "too hot" / "too cold" bath thermometers that pervade the baby bath thermometers market. Those were never dependable, and I want to know the exact temp anyway. I was happy when I found this, and even happier to know that it works well.- I realized that it is handy to know the exact temp even of an adult bath (...on the rare occasion that a mom with kids gets one...) Removes the guessing factor when stepping in. It is especially invaluable with deep tubs like ours, where filling takes a long time. But I can also imagine that it would be smart for anyone, perhaps especially for elderly people.- The kids like the duck (...and, really, who wouldn't love to sing Ernie's "Rubber Ducky, your the one" song while bathing?! ;-)- It seems to be accurate and to have stayed accurate (we have had one for several years now, and bought another one for another bathroom more recently)- The price is great (at least for one that gives you the actual temp rather than a useless "too hot" comment)CONS- Like kids bath toys the world over, sometimes seems to get a little water in the (non-electronic) part. Has not been a problem though.BOTTOM LINE:This is a smart product. A must have for baby baths and kids. And not so bad for grown ups either! Read more

I love this duck. It makes me confident in the bath water temp. It also makes it to where I can set it to a similar temperature every bath. The only not think I would say is a bit wonky is that if the temperature is to low it turns green... You would think it would be blue for too cold green for just right and red for too hot. But that is easy to deal with.Updated 5-30-2016 - I loved this duck until it stopped working after 5 months. I replaced the batteries and it worked for one bath. Now I have a duck that doesn't even squeak :( Read more

I absolutely loved my crocodile.... Sadly this broke after one month of use. I took care, as other reviews advised, and only used it for checking temperature then removed it from the bath. I did not let my son play with it for fear of submerging it for long periods of time and it breaking. Well... It broke anyway. Based on the reviews this product truly is hit or miss for longevity and mine was a miss. I would purchase a different/ more reliable product unless you really want a crocodile and are willing to gamble with it's longevity. Read more

This thermometer is very cute looking, and easy to use.My overall 5 star rating is because it is really very cute, it appears to be well made, it does its job, and its very easy to use. Simple button push to change between F and C, and another button to turn it on (or it turns on automatically when in water), and you can even change what the high temp alarm is ( between 99-100 ºF).This is the first time I've done a review where Amazon asked me to rate additional factors, like "how fun is this toy?" I put 5 stars because while it's not a toy, its definitely fun. As for educational value... well these ratings don't suit the item.Despite the other ratings, the product is great. I think it's an easy 5 stars.8/14/13 ** EDIT **I still feel like this is a great product, and I would still rate it 5 stars.1) I have also been using this to check air temperature, and it seems to measure VERY closely (occasionally one degree different) to a much more expensive room thermometer that I used to check this against. I don't have anything else to check water temperature, so I can't verify this, but I can't imagine it would be different.2) I have found one item worth mentioning: you should try to avoid submerging this thermometer completely in water. While I didn't do it on purpose, I regularly let it float under the stream of water filling the tub which pushes it underwater. The thermometer part in the center is actually just a press-fit into the plastic alligator/crocodile part on the outside. In the inside of the alligator part is a small hole, which will let water in if submerged (I imagine the water pressure becomes high enough to break the press-fit seal between the thermometer and the alligator). It's not a huge deal, but it is hard to get the water out (and doesn't really evaporate out well, being such a small hole), and it will cause the thermometer to float unevenly due to the water that's inside of it. I believe that just floating on the top of the water, it would never get any in there.I think if you're pro-active, a dab of 100% silicone would prevent this from ever being a problem (100% silicone should be baby safe once it's dried). I bought the crocodile dreambaby thermometer for my newborn baby. I had a different brand when my son was born but it had since died. I am a bad judge of whether water it too hot or too cold, so this type of product is a must. It works well. It flashes green if it's too cold and red if it's too hot. It also digitally displays the temputare. My toddler loves it and I think it will last a long time. It is easy to use and cute. Read more

Yes, I know the old elbow test, but this takes all the guess work out of it. Safety is foremost and this accurately displays water temp ensuring baby's delicate skin isn't burned or chilled and that baby has a comfortable bath experience. Read more

Could be a nifty little item. But the battery cover allowed water ingress which stopped the item working after one use! We took off the battery cover and it worked again when it had dried out, but it would appear not to be fit for purpose. So we had to return it.We requested a return and it was picked up on 1st June. Nothing happened until 15th July. Amazon told us the item may have been lost in transit. A bit rubbish that no procedure appears to be in place to ensure this issue is not flagged up. We wasted time having to chase it. Sorted by Amazon. Read more

Bought to replace a Tommee Tippee bath thermometer which leaked and went rusty after a handful of uses. I've been using our new rubber ducky thermometer for a few weeks now and it's great! No leaks, we are confident it is accurate, it floats nicely and baby likes to kick it around in the water while we wash him. Very happy. Read more

I was very excited about this. In the first couple of baths it was great. The light is useful and it seems to be very precise with temperature intervals between a tenth of a degree Celsius. But after a few baths it began to fill with water and now capsizes so you can no longer see the temperature when it is half in the water due to diffraction. I have to hold it upright in position to see the temperature and make sure it's reading correctly. The temperature function hasn't been compromised but it is a pain. I tried to empty the water out but it transpires there is a hole in the middle of the duck behind the head next to the sensor components that is very difficult to get to and once you do it is impossible to pour the water out. Water tips to the tail end where there is no hole. I would recommend popping out the middle sensor and display and filling the hole with silicone before you use it. I may need to make a new hole to get the water out and then fill both holes... Hassle. Disappointing. Torn between rating this 2 or 3 stars. A big shame. Read more

Looks like great product. My son loved it floating in the bath but after about 4 weeks I was unable to turn it on. It was working intermittently when left in floating for sometime but it soon stopped working. I expected battery to last at least 3 months but it stopped working after about 5-6 weeks. Not value for money at all!! Read more

This had arrived today, I have tried to switch it on as per instructions but no luck. I guess the batteries are out, I will not be purchasing set of screwdrivers to get into this and replace. Should have bought oldfashioned one less room for error. Not a happy bee over here. Read more
