After reviewing multiple baby gates I decided that this would be the best product for my needs. I needed to close a large open gap and that limits your options when looking for baby gates. The product is well made but has a disadvantage of becoming more unstable when adding multiple connections. I close a gap that was approximately 80 inches across. If using this product on hardwood floors I suggest adding felt or some other material so to avoid scratching the floors because every time the gate closes the whole thing will flex and will cause the bracing on the bottom to scratch and or rub against finished floors. This would not be so much of a problem with carpet, but just something to be aware of if you want to protect your floors. So overall the product is well-made but becomes less stable as you add extensions. The company does recommend only one extension be added to each side, so make sure when you’re ordering that you keep that in mind. Read more

These are THE BEST baby gates out there. When my daughter was little we had a climber who scaled the regular baby gates like a monkey so in came Dreambaby. Because of the vertical slats she couldn't get her foot in anything to catapult herself over the gate. That was about 8 years ago and we still own and use them. We still have one gate upstairs in case the littlest decides to travel half asleep down the stairs, another at the top of the basement stairs to keep the kids out of hubby's office space during meetings (they can open it now so it's more of a visual sign to them to leave him alone when the gate is closed) and we just purchased the two-pack deal to keep the new fluffy child (puppy) contained to the kitchen. These gates have withstood quite a bit of abuse from the kids, a move to a new home and they still look new - they are durable, easy to open (both ways which is awesome) but not so easy for young children to open (it took my daughter years to figure out how to open them) and they're tall which buys you time. I also like that they have the extension pieces in case you have a wider doorway and they don't look like baby gates - they're more stylish and will fit in with any home decor. This is exactly what I was looking for. It came with two gates and two four inch extenders. I used one gate in a 28.5" door opening and the other with extenders in a hallway. Both quickly and easily installed, just follow the instructions.We are using to keep dogs in/out of areas in the house. Perfect widths and height. I like that I have options to purchase additional extenders to bridge larger areas of needed.Also like that the doors are bidirectional and have an auto close spring. Very easy to open. Read more

Live in a tri level, so enter in main floor and have stairs up/ stairs down, we have 4 of these gates and like them. Two little kids. We looked at tons of gate options and these seemed to be the safest by far, the biggest bang for your buck.PROS:Rock solid steel, easy to open one handed, can lock when closed.2 year old kids can climb all over and these gates wont budge. Each box comes with an extension so will work with any width of stairwell/ door way.The gates close on their own so you open, walk through and let go- saves time with 4 of them! We use white plastic chain and wall hooks to keep them open when not in use.CONS:MADE IN CHINA- I'm not surprised, but would like to see more made in my country to keep the jobs coming and the money at home!Gate opening itself is relatively small, have to lift things over if they are very big.Install is not as quick as a normal baby gate, you wouldn't want to be removing these and replacing them daily. I don't know about the stairs at your house, but ours are the same width at the top as they are at the bottom. I bought this value pack because I thought it would have everything I needed to install two gates. However, because I needed both extenders for one gate, I am left with a second gate that is too short. I now have to purchase additional extenders, which are overpriced. I see now that the picture shows very clearly what I get in the package, but at the time, I didn't realize that I wouldn't have enough.That being said, the gates work well. They are easy enough to unlatch one handed while you are toting a 25 pound baby and her various necessities up the stairs in the middle of the night. They sometimes do not automatically latch if you just let them go behind you, but a gentle push will make sure that they lock. They were easy to install (we used the pressure method) and I don't think that they are going to do any damage to the walls or baseboard.Overall, they are adequate for our needs and I predict that they will last a while. I took my time installing them properly over 2 months ago and I haven’t had to adjust them at all. Love them.My only issue was I wish the bottom anchors were up a little higher to install above quarter round trim with the bottom bar flush to the floor. I ended up cutting out the quarter round and will just have to replace when we’re done using the gates.Also, I found It difficult to turn the anchors with bare hands. So hint... put on rubbery garden gloves for gripping the anchors to tighten them. Read more

These gates are sturdy and the bars are close enough that a very small pet (i.e. 6 lb. Chihuahua) cannot wiggle through them. I liked that the gate opens both ways and that it shuts itself. The only problem I had was that it was hard to install. No matter what we tried, we couldn't get the bottom to stay flat with the floor at the same time the top was aligned correctly. Also, you have to be very strong to turn the adjusters on the sides. My husband and I are in our 50s and it took both of us to install this - even then, it isn't perfect, but it suits the purpose. I recommend if you have someone strong to install it and if you have lots of patience to get it right. Read more
