Daily walking is my form of exercise. I usually walk about an hour after work and enjoy it very much; however I have been having a problem with getting sores on the bottom of my feet, due to my cotton socks and the constant rubbing against the skin as I walk. So while poking around on Amazon, I came across these Dr. Fredericks Original half Toe Sleeve Metatarsal Pads. My thinking was this is just what I need, so I ordered them! I have several poorly set broken bones in my right foot from an old accident, troublesome metatarsals, rheumatoid arthritis, and really tender little pinky toes that tend to develop corns. They protect my pinkies from friction, cushion the ball of my foot for all day comfort, don't crowd my toes (for that reason I prefer them slightly over the closed toe version), stay put all day long even without socks, and can even be worn with peep-toe shoes. I have capsulitis of the 2nd toe (pain in the ball of my left foot), especially painful when walking barefoot on our hardwood floors. With this toe sleeve and a pair of socks, the pain goes away. The sleeve is a little bulky to fit inside a pair of shoes, but I'm definitely going to experiment. Packet comes with two (left and right), but you can easily flip one inside-out. Seriously these are a must have if you stress out your metatarsal bones. When I was training for the Rim 2 Rim Grand Canyon hike I really aggravated mine to the point I was hobbling around daily & thought possibly I was not going to be able to hike the canyon. I tried lots of things nothing helped. Then I found these little beauties!!! First I would liken it to walking on marshmallows, if you can even imagine. Weird I know! :) BUT seriously as soon as I stuck them on I had instant relief!!! I had to wear looser shoes as I do have wide feet & I needed to adjust for them plus my socks. These worked perfectly for the first month. Then, maybe because I wear them daily, they began to roll and stick to themselves. I have a second pair that I also use. I started using spray antiperspirant on my feet prior to putting them on and that helped tremendously. It's a good product that gives me a lot of pain relief. ves Read more

These are great, I have spina bifida, I need foot aids all the time, I love the soft gel these are made of, very comfortable on the foot, and the cut makes it looser around the sides, so they don't scrunch the toes together, similar products are made of firmer harder materials and usually become uncomfortable after a few hours of wearing, these give a good amount of cushioning to the bottom of the foot and I wear them all day, they stay in place so i do not have to keep adjusting them. I bought these to get some relief as my feet had been badly cut up with new shoes. I paid 11.99 GBP and got two pairs in the pack. I have pretty wide feet for my size (I'm 5 foot 2) so I hoped they would fit. They are however MASSIVE lol and they kept slipping up and down my foot, providing only discomfort as I had to adjust them every few minutes. Read more

This is way too large to be fitted around anyone’s foot and it’s elastic so it will stretch regardless? Not sure if there’s something wrong with the one I received or I just don’t know how to use it. It’s not eligible for return either so I guess I’m chucking it out and won’t be able to get my money back either. Read more

Although they do help to relieve my bunion pain (underneath the foot) they do move about (even with socks on) possibly as they seem a bit too large for me (I have slim feet in a UK size 7) Perhaps they would fit larger feet more snugly so would not move about as much? Read more
