I'm gonna start by saying that, as a woman shaving my legs/underarms, shaving with any safety razor has a learning curve, and the potential for knicks and cuts is higher than a standard razor if you aren't careful. That said, I think this style of razor also provides a closer shave on top of being more economically and ecologically friendly, so with that in mind, the preference for one over the other depends on your priorities, I guess.I purchased this one to compare to the "butterfly" styled one I'd purchased a couple years ago, which I liked on the points above, but found somewhat difficult to manuever as I kept bumping the dial to open the "butterfly" hinges to access the blade which would allow the blade to shift around and lead to more knicks. This razor doesn't have that function; instead you layer the blade between two pieces that then screw into the handle, and I've found that it stays much more secure. It doesn't shift unless I want it to.If you're curious about the composition of this razor, it is three pieces and entirely metal, so it has a considerable heft to it, and it has a textured handle to help you grip it when wet. It is compatible with any, double sided razor blade, which I've found needs to be changed every 2 to 4 shaves to keep its performance prime. I recommend getting a blade bank for blade disposal.Aesthetically, (because I'm gonna be looking at this thing for a long, long time, in theory) it is a nice, expensive looking tool (I got the "rose-gold" one). I am really impressed with the quality if this razor. Came with 10 GREAT Doro razors that will last me a good while given the amount of shaving I do. I will definitely be buying a second since my partner will definitely be stealing this one.While the initial investment may seen large, this is a incredibly cheap alternative to buying new razor heads long term. If used properly they are also incredibly safe.Get one today if you are trying to reduce your waste or just want to save money on blades. You won't be disappointed! As a woman, I didn't even really know safety razors could be used for anything but the face but Ive heard more and more women switching to them and man I'm so glad I took the plunge. For one, I love this razor specifically, I got the mint color and it's so cute and the handle is textured perfectly for grip. Getting the new blades on and off can be a pain but that's true of any safety razor. I love that this brand includes 10 razors (most I saw only included 5) and was such a great price. I get a closer shave on my legs, no razor burn and I can feel a little less guilty not throwing away disposables constantly. Just buy new blades every so often which can be recycled! And yes I have used this in the more sensitive/private parts and have had no issues! Just be sure you look up a quick how-to on using these if you've never used them before.ALSO one bummer is that you cannot take these on flights in your carryon. This safety razor is amazing, and it is built Ford tough! It is very sturdy in weight and all painted steel (baby pink option purchased). For a woman with tiny hands, I was a bit fearful that I would drop it and slice my leg. However, the weight allowed me to remember not to apply pressure while shaving and to hold the razor at 30 degrees at all times. I did get my fingers too close to the blades when putting on the first blade, because I didn’t know what I was doing.In the box, you will find your safety razor, a pack of 10 refill blades, and NO instructions what so ever! I had to ask my 71 year old mother how to open this thing to put in a blade, because I had no clue. It is a simple unscrew of the handle that releases the cover. Then I decided it would be a smart idea to look on YouTube to see how to use it before user error leads to an ER visit. I really love it. It has some weight to it and the color is absolutely beautiful. Nice pastel green and function just like any other razor. It comes with ten razor so you'll be fine for like a few months, depending how much razor you go through. For me I'm new to these type of razor and I personally don't shave often maybe once a week or every other week. I'm a women who shave mostly her legs and armpit. Since it's so pretty makes me look forward to shaving. I guess aesthetic does make me happy and I'm not using plastic which is why I feel less guilty in using it. Read more
