Product Description Door Buddy - The Adjustable Baby Proof Door Strap THE BABY-CAT HOME DILEMMA Your baby has finally reached that crawling milestone! The world is their oyster and exploring your home is the main mission of the day. Although it may be an exciting time, when their curiosity takes them to places and rooms where they can get into trouble, it can quickly become a problem. This is especially true if you have an indoor cat and you need to keep your baby (and even your dog) out of the cat food and litter box. Let's keep your little ones safe and your cats sane with the help of Door Buddy. Our Story: We were in the exact same situation when our daughter started crawling. She was constantly navigating to the laundry room with the cat food and litter box. We considered a cat door but did not want to cut a hole in our door. We tried a baby gate but it was so cumbersome to use. Plus, our cat simply refused to jump over it. One thing led to another and out of necessity, Door Buddy was born. What is Door Buddy? Door Buddy is an Adjustable Door Strap that allows the door to open wide enough for cats to easily enter and exit the room as they want while keeping it narrow enough so babies cannot get in! Door Buddy is a lifesaver for many parents! Door Buddy lets cats in and keeps babies out. A better way to baby proof the litter box and cat food is finally here! Forget the hassle of baby gates and permanent cat door installations. Door Buddy is simple, safe, and works like a charm! Keep your baby out and give your cats a space of their own in a matter of seconds. Why Door Buddy? Because it is very easy to install, simple to use, non-invasive, convenient and it works! All you need to do is peel, stick, and cure. Door Buddy can also be used to keep the door ajar allowing for proper airflow which will help regulate the temperature between rooms and also prevent isolated rooms from getting stuffy and stale. How does Door Buddy work? Door Buddy installs in seconds using strong 3M adhesive tape. The little hook you unlatch to access the room can also be easily done with one hand from either side of the door which is perfect for busy parents! You can even customize our product to suit the width of your door opening (typically between 2" to 6") to work with the exact sizes of your cat and baby. Door Buddy is Made in the USA Who is Door Buddy best for? It is perfect for new parents with cats who just don't want to deal with the hassle of stepping over a baby gate or for those who are not ready for the daunting task of cutting a permanent hole in their door to install a cat door. Where should I use Door Buddy? Any interior room with a door! The most popular places to use our door strap include the laundry room, bathroom, bedroom, closet, cat's favorite hangout room, or any room that you want to isolate from access by dogs, babies, toddlers, and in some cases, even cats. What's in the combo pack? Our combo pack comes with a Finger Pinch Guard to use with your Door Buddy Latch. What is the Finger Pinch Guard for? The Finger Pinch Guard stops the door from closing while preventing pinched fingers (and tails), slamming doors, or little ones and pets from getting locked in rooms. What is the best way to use the Finger Pinch Guard? The Finger Pinch Guard can be adjusted on top of the door to match the gap set by the strap to increase stability and minimize the movement of the door while leaving it open. I have a toddler, will it work for me? It depends on what stage you consider as a toddler. It is usually best to start using Door Buddy early when your baby just starts crawling. Then, when they reach the toddler stage they will know that room is "off-limits" already. If you start using Door Buddy when your little one is older than 2 years old then there is a chance that they will be able to push hard enough for the adhesives to come off. However, please review the INSTALLATION GUIDE provided for alternative methods of installation for greater strength and resistance to pressure. Just remember that Door Buddy is intended to be a deterrent only and is meant to make your and your cat's life easier. Like any baby-proofing product, it is NOT a substitute for proper adult supervision. Will it work for my door? Yes! Door Buddy works perfectly on left and right swinging doors, doors that push or pull open, pocket doors, double doors, and bi-fold doors. Install on the back of the door for greater strength and resistance to pressure. Be sure to install it on your door and door frame only. Do NOT install on drywall or wallpaper. For more information on our installation process, it's best to visit our INSTALLATION GUIDE where you will find our tips and tricks to ensure that your Door Buddy is fully optimized for your home. Don't waste your money on clumsy baby gates or inconvenient cat doors. Keep your little one out of trouble, give your cat their own personal space, and treat yourself to some peace of mind. So, what are you waiting for? Don't struggle anymore. Choose the easier way to baby proof the doors in your home. Soon you will also call Door Buddy "one of the best baby proofing purchases ever made!"

Installing this product I knew it would leave the door open but no one informed me it would open satans den. I almost pissed myself walking passed the door in the hallway when I saw eyes looking back at me.I love this product it keeps the kids out of the basement and let’s the cats run free.... just maybe keep the light on downstairs if you have a black cat. Welcome to the animal house. We have 4 doggos and 5 cats (among others). Our dogs like to sleep in our room but the cats like the option of going in & out. If I leave the door open, the dogs will wake up before I do & who knows what they'll do. ("Who let the dogs out" is not fun when they leave little surprises for you.)Thanks to Door Buddy we can keep the door open a smidgen for the cats to do as they please but keep the doggos in until we are ready to let them out. You can adjust the size of the space in case you have a *chunky* kitty, like we do. It adheres to the door frame well. It took a few days to remember it was there & we may have pulled door open too hard a couple times & pulled it off. But it was easy to put back on & stayed on. It doesn't pop off when my dog tries to stick his nose in the door to push it open. That's also the great thing about the different sizes you can make it. You don't want your pup to get his head stuck in it so you can adjust it perfectly. We like this product so much that we bought a second one for another door.Oh! I almost forgot- it comes with this door wedge thing. It is amazing. We have a house fan & when we turn it on, some of our bedroom doors slam shut. You ever have the wind so crazy it just slams your door? Not anymore with our Door Buddy wedge thingy. It is easy to take off & put on your door handle for when you want some privacy & have the door closed all the way. Brilliant! Read more
The concept is alright but the actual design needs improvement. My 2yo baby hulk was able to pull the door open and rip this off the wall within the first few minutes of me letting her near the bathroom door. As with command strips, I washed the wall and used rubbing alcohol and waited the customary 24 or so hours before I let her near it. I know she's strong but the adhesive was just really disappointing. We rent our home and now paint is pulled off both the door and the wall, and our landlady is not going to be happy about it. I was going to try and reaffix this but I'm A) afraid of it happening again and B) the package only comes with 1 replacement sticky pad and not 2, and this girl ripped both pieces off. No it wasn't installed within her reach, but when she got one side off and the band was just hanging there she was able to grab it and pull it off (I'm assuming by just putting all her weight into it). The media could not be loaded. We used this on our pantry door to let the cat have access to her food but keep the baby out. It took less than 5 minutes to install. We made sure to let it settle for 24 hours before testing it (like the directions say). It took some adjusting of the length to make it smaller than the baby’s head, but now it’s perfect. The door jam protector is a MUST because our baby loves opening and closing doors and would pinch her finger if it wasn’t there. This is a great solution for a house with a baby and a pet. Read more
This product is brilliant. I have 2 adult cats and a small dog, and I recently adopted a pair of kittens. Their home base is the laundry room since the gap under the door is big enough to see/interact with the older animals during the settling in period. Once the kittens were allowed out to explore, I wanted to keep the bigger cats and the dog away from their food and litter box but still give the kittens free access to their safe space. I was about to rig up a contraption when I found this! It's perfect. It took a bit of trial and error to determine how narrow to make the gap for just the kittens, but now I can keep track of how much they are eating and using the litterbox without interference from the older ones. The only improvement or suggestion I would make would be to have a larger sized bumper option. I'm going to make one myself.I highly recommend this- the adhesive is great so far, there is plenty of room in the strap to adjust from really small up to several inches, even with the stronger back-of-door setup. I love how the hook is loose enough to easily lift out/drop in. It took 30 seconds to install, including surface prep. Read more
I purchased this product to keep a LARGE (VERY large German Shepard/Bernese Mountain Dog), out of a room where we keep our cat box. Once she discovered the cat box - much to my dismay - she quickly discovered how much she likes those tasty little morsels! I did some research to try and find some way to keep her out of the room, yet, allow our cat easy access to her box. We didn't want to cut into our door to install a cat access door. (My husband is totally against this idea.) SO - enter the Door Buddy!!!!! It does EXACTLY what I was hoping it would do!!! Since installing the Door Buddy (with a little assistance from the company rep), we have had zero breakthroughs into the cat box area! In fact, our "Euro Mountain Sheparnese" no longer even attempts to get into the room! The cat freely has access to her box. Problem solved! I chose this package with the foam pad to keep the door from inadvertently closing. VERY quick and easy installation and works like a charm! An added note - I emailed the owner of the company and received a personal response very quickly! Highly responsive and they want to make sure this works for you the way it was intended and will bend over backwards to make sure you are satisfied. I would absolutely buy this again and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! Read more
This very simple solution to alot of problems that are faced around the house. I was looking for a solution for stopping my 2 dogs (rottweiler/ German shepherd cross and old english bulldog) from getting into the cats litter tray, which sounds like a minor problem but as one of the dogs had previously had to stay at the vets for 2 days because she had a large blockage from eating the cat litter and the vet said it was very lucky that we took her when we did otherwise there would have been nothing that could have been done for her. So we tried this as the rescue overweight cat that we had adopted needed exercise so we didn't want to lock him in one room while we were asleep or out. This worked really well, thought the dogs might have tried pushing it more but the seem to except they are not allowed in but the cat can still squeeze in and out when he wants to Read more
Door Buddy is a must have, my little one thought it was a good idea at midnight every night to climb not one but two gates (one gate was the start of the climbing) and go and help himself to some snacks. I had given up on gates and shut his door, nope he'd just open the door and carry on whenever he pleased 🤦🏻♀️ So I came across Door Buddy when I was hunting for a solution and was a little sceptical as my boy is strong I didn't think it would last.. However we are 2 weeks in from fitting Door Buddy and hey presto not only can he not escape for midnight snacks but he's given up waking up all together! So I have a fresh eyed little boy and a fridge/cupboard still full of food! Winner winner chicken dinner 😂 Read more
Ripped paint off, had to rescure with glue. Expensive for what it is. Have readjusted review to 1 star.. I wish I hadn't trusted this. My toddler pushed it open and got to my permanent marker and brand new pc set up. The buckle makes it weak and allows it to be stretched to widest state. Read more
This was my second door lock, this time I opted out for a set with the little foam to protect the door from slamming. The door buddy is great, although the foamy bit got too tedious to keep putting it on and off every time I wanted to close the door, so I’m not using that part. I’m sure people can find it useful if their doors are easily to slam or they don’t want to lock them at all. The door buddy itself is solid quality and the glue holds it tight. My first one is now 1,5 years old and no deterioration to the quality. Read more
I used this to separate two cats who were fighting, allowed me to keep the door open a small amount so they could smell each other but prevented them from getting access. Was surprisingly strong though I don't now how well it would hold up against a larger animal. Removed cleanly once I no longer needed it. Read more
