This DONGINBI Hydra Bounce Korean Skin Care Set might be okay for very oily skin, as it contains a good bit of alcohol, but I don't think it would be ideal. Alcohol is very harsh on the skin, no matter the skin type. All three products have alcohol as one of the top several ingredients. (The ingredients lists are below).Both the softener and emulsion I actually had to add an extra serum before applying the cream, as the softener (toner) and emulsion (essence) dried my skin out quite a bit.The cream feels nice and very light when you put it on, but it too contains a lot of alcohol. It has the most beneficial ingredients of all three products, but I'm afraid that over the long-term, the adverse effects of the alcohol would outweigh any benefits of all the wonderful ingredients.The cream may provide you with the most beneficial ingredients, yet you get the least amount of it in this set. You get two huge bottles of the softener ~ 5.07oz and emulsion ~ 4.39oz, along with two small .5oz trial size bottles, with only one tiny .23 oz trial size jar of the cream. To truly call this a skin care set, it should contain full size containers of all three products. In my opinion, they should have included a full size cream and ditched the trial-size bottles of softener and emulsion.This skin care set, or softener and emulsion set, contains lots of good skin loving ingredients, but to me, they are snuffed out by the high alcohol content. It also contains a fragrance, but it is light enough not to be overly bothersome. This set may work out for someone who has very oily skin. Just be mindful of the adverse effects of using such high alcohol content products long-term. For those with dry or combination skin, it is quite drying. SAMPLE SIZE, NOT TRAVEL SIZE ~~ EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR DRY SKIN ~~ SUBTLE FRAGRANCEDonginbi is a K-Beauty brand that I've used before, mainly for the benefits of red ginseng which is promoted heavily in their products. Red ginseng is a great anti-ageing ingredient and an anti-oxidant that calms skin. Fermented red ginseng is considered more effective at reducing wrinkles than unfermented red ginseng. Given the longevity of this company and emphasis on ginseng, I suspect they primarily use the fermented version.FYI: Unfortunately, I discovered an irritation/allergy factor to either the scent or concentration of red ginseng in their "Red Ginseng Moisture & Firming Essence", which is a more intensive product than these are, with a heavily pungent scent and sting upon skin contact. Reluctantly, I had to gift it to someone else rather than throw it away. So, imagine my hesitation when I saw this little trio of Red Ginseng Hydra Bounce Cream Fresh (Travel kit). The moisturizing collection also features red ginsensg (and hyaluronic acid), which is right up my alley when it comes to hydrating dry skin.Hydra Bounce Emulsion (serum)Hydra Bounce Softener (toner)Hydra Bounce Cream Fresh (moisturizer)All three are cool, water-based products that lock in intense moisturization without being heavy or oily. Not only are they refreshing on the skin, but have a very light, floral fresh scent. As someone with extreme allergies, the scent is soft with just a wisp of fragrance, which is great for me. I still noticed a tiny sting on my skin, but no noticeable reaction. Consequently, ginseng may not be a fav product of mine in general, despite its benefits. But there are also other plant-based ingredients in the formula that might be the culprit, like Motherwort and Gingko Leaf. I try to avoid botanicals for that reason.The toner is light and moisturizing, not watery. The emulsion is like a true serum. The gel moisturizer is just slick and supple -- my favorite type for face or eyes. The very texture of it can't help but leave skin dewy soft and luminescent. All the products have easy absorption and intense moisture. I really like this set, and it works very well on my dry skin. The slight sting/irritation quickly faded away, and the trio is my preference of all their products that I've tried so far. I have tried several Donginbi products and really like them, especially the red ginseng toner. So I was happy to try the hydra bounce cream. And it doesn't disappoint. This is a whipped, fluffy cream that goes on wet filled with moisture to hydrate parched skin. After use my skin felt dewy and fresh.The product comes with a tiny scoop at the bottom of the box. It's easy to miss so be sure to look for it. As much as I like this product I could not find an ingredients list online. Not even on the product's US website. I would suggest the company add a full ingredients list to the product page as many of us like to know what we are putting on our face. Read more
