I have used other chlorine neutralizing body lotions and gels before, but this is the only one that actually works! I swim for exercise six days a week in a heavily chlorinated club pool. Because of this, I developed a sensitivity rash on my shoulder blades. It was super itchy and painful to the point that I thought I was going to have to give up swimming. This product was amazing for my skin. I recently started a swim instructing job that required me to be in an extremely chlorinated pool for 4+ hours a day. I was breaking out into the most horrible itchy pain full chlorine rashes you can imagen. They covered my entire leg and arm. I could barely sleep from the itching and discomfort and when I did sleep I would wake up scratching my self so hard I bled. I tried Benadryl, antihistamines, hydrocortisone and none of it did a damn thing. So I'm about at my wit's end and honestly ready to quit my job. I was researching different products and this one looked like my last best option. After reading the infrequently list and reviews I decided to give it and go and it was amazing. Inside of two days my arms and legs were no longer itchy at all! I still had some dry skin and cuts causing some rough patches but those were gone in about 4 days. My sink has never felt better. I will advise that when it comes to the tight feeling one often gets after swimming it does little to alleviate that. My daughter had been taking swimming lesson this fall and developed a rash on her hands and arms. We tried aquaphor, coconut oil, cortizone cream to relieve it, but nothing helped. I guessed that it might be from the overuse of chlorine at the pool, so I started looking for something to counteract it and found this product. We live in Florida and my 8 year old granddaughter is in the water most of the summer. Prior to buying this product, she began having a reaction to the Chlorine and started having an allergic reaction to the Chlorine. I use this before I swim and after my shower after I swim. I don't feel I have used it long enough to give an honest assessment of 100% effectiveness, but I do feel it makes a difference. I will keep using it because I am so grateful to find something that seems to be calming down the terrible itching the pool creates. Virtually no scent - I notice all scents. This has no "scent"...it smells like lotion but no actual scent - if that makes sense. Certainly no added fragrance. It melts in to your skin - so it doesn't leave a greasy feel. it is amazing at moisturizing...amazing. I use it before the pool and after showering. Plus....I will occasionally have an eczema rash from the chlorine so I have a steroid ointment I can use when that happens...I need the steroid for the first day when the rash appears but after a day the steroid knocks back the inflammation, but then it mostly stops working. After the first day of the rash, this lotion actually works better than the steroid at resolving an eczema rash. I put ointment on a rash the first day, then for days 2-5 I put steroid on half the rash and this lotion on the other half. The half with this lotion was completely healthy skin by day 5, the steroid side was still a bit "rashy" and quite itchy - the rash was only about 2 inches in diameter so it is unlikely there was any other variable in play. Also, if I get a little itchy before a rash starts, if I put this on the area I never get a rash at all. Chlorine is hard on skin but this lotion seems to negate the visible effects of chlorine on my skin. I always have this not only in my pool bag but also in my cabinet so if I get any itchy irritation I use this and the skin stays healthy. I took container to my Derm and asked her if she had any thoughts about using this on an eczema rash (which is technically "open" skin)...she laughed to herself when she read the ingredients and said this stuff was great for eczema. My daughter gets large hive-like bumps, rough peeling skin and red rash that lasts weeks, all over her body if she swims in chlorine! The only thing that would take it away was Dr. prescribed steroid cream! This pre-swim lotion protected her 100%! I also bought an after chlorine body wash and after chlorine lotion from Tri-swim, if I don’t use this pre-swim lotion on her first she still gets 15% of the rash (really bad in armpits) and it lasts about a week!
