I typically use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shaping Cream, which I really like. It's on the pricey side so I starting scouting for an alternative. Between the favorable Amazon reviews and several rave web review, I decided to give this stuff a go. My hair is very straight and extremely fine, not to mention full of cowlicks.On the plus side, the price a great. It does an okay job keeping hair in place.On the down side, it's a weird, gooey consistency and I can never seem to get the right amount. Too little and it does nothing. A little too much and my hair feels like a greasy mess.I've seen several reviews complaining about the smell. It basically smells like coconut oil and is not a big deal. It's good enough that I'll be able to finish off the substantially-sized 5.3 oz. jar. When it's gone I'll be going back to the shaping cream.As an aside, my container had a picture of a crowd with their hands in the air instead of the steamy romance novel lid shown here. The product arrived without a seal under or over the lid and considering this product is going on my son’s head I was not thrilled. Not a huge fan of this, too sticky (works best on short hair) and smells tropical which I don’t care for.Have traditionally used Crew Forming Cream and like that much better on every level. I was being cheap and figured I’d give this a try because you get more for less than the Crew. Mistake- oh well. I am extremely picky about my hair and the products I use in it. My hair is extremely thick and often doesn't hold very well with crème style hair gels. That becomes an issue as I don't like the shine that pomades give. With that, I gave this a try; here is my experience:Things I Like:-The hold of this gel is unlike any other that I have used. I have tried Crew Fiber, dove, and countless other brands and I can honestly say that none of them can even compare. This stuff lasts me an entire workday with minimal adjustment.-There is very minimal shine with this product. I personally don't like sporting the shiny hair look; with that, this product really does not shine much. Oftentimes, people question whether or not I have product in my hair.-With 5.3oz, I have been using the product for quite a few months and still have plenty left. Overall, I can see myself getting at least 6 to 8 months out of a single container.-It provides enough "play" to reform your hair throughout the day. This is a must for me as wind inevitably shifts your hair around, regardless of the product you use.Things that need improvement-I really can't find anything.In the end, if you are searching for a hair product for thick hair that holds well, I recommend giving this a try! I decided to try the d:fi molding creme after going back and forth between Mitch and American Crew products for some time. I do like the overall hold and matte texture of the d:fi, but the texture of the product sometimes makes it difficult to work through the hair initially. This just means a few extra minutes of working with the product to get the look I'm going for, but ultimately I'll get there.This does last all day long and even into the next morning sometimes, so durability is not an issue. Pricing is less than the other brands I use so I will definitely consider rebuying when the time comes. I'd say it's worth a shot if you're looking for a similar product. Read more

I was surprised to learn that this was one of David Raccuglia's American Crew products after reading the fine print on the bottom of the package.I am not one for 'grooming' every day and try to keep things simple. However, when I need to use some 'product', this one has a nice balance of attributes and ease of use for me. It is not as thick as my American Crew hair creme and is water soluble, which makes it easy to dilute down to the consistancy that I need and then it washes off my hands fairly easily, unlike the A.C. hair creme which requires warm water, plenty of soap and a fair amount of effort. In addition to easy handling, it also has a nice pineapple or pina colada scent.Holding strength seems good to me and unless you need to do extreme things with your hair, D:fi D:struct should be more than adequate. This stuff works really well - so why only 3 stars? It makes my scalp go crazy. Not madly itchy, but my scalp reacts by getting crusty slighty itchy (I know - gross, huh?) bumps here and there. I don't know which ingredient(s) I have a reaction too but it's real. I quit using it for a day or two and the bumps go away. Then I use it again and boom they are back. This really bums me out because if not for my skin reaction I'd be a repeat buyer. I don't have any known allergies but something in this does not work with my particular biology. Habe mir dieses Haargel/wachs bestellt, nachdem ich es bei einem Freund von mir gesehen habe. Ist zwar etwas teurer als die üblichen Haarprodukte im Laden, dafür finde ich riecht es viel besser (Ananas), hält besser ohne dabei irgendwie zu verkleben oder zu verfetten. Ich bin kein Typ mit ausgefallenen Frisuren, aber für den Zweck die Haare so zum Liegen/Stehen zu bringen und auch so zu bleiben ist dieses Produkt perfekt.
