A very small amount, size of a baby pea, is all that is needed to give my fine, straight, unprocessed short hair plenty of lift. Any more than that and it is too much and weighs my hair down. This stuff is magic! If you have problem hair (too thin, no body, hard to style) just pick up D:fi D:struct and you'll see magic. Just rub a bit on the palm of your hand and fingers, gently massaging into your hair, using your fingers to push/pull your hair around until you see a 'style' happening. Using a pick helps by separating the strands that refuse to cooperate. It takes a time or two to get the hang of it but, by golly, it works! You'll love it!Don't use too much, however. I use this everyday to style my hair. I have a short pixie style and after blow drying I use a small amount of distruct on the ends where I have some spiky ends that I want to highlight around my bang and sides. The product feels fine in my hair, not gooey or greasy like some, unless you go overboard! I'm really happy with it so far for the price and quality. It is much cheaper than the Redken brand my stylist wanted me to buy and I think it works just as well. I have been a big fan of the  D:fi D:Sculpt High Hold which is the high hold variant and thought I would try the medium to see if I like it more.Texture: Product is a cream, white in color with the consistency of pudding.Performance: No complaints, hold is sufficient, matte look, no clumping issues.Fragrance: I can't help but think it smells like Pineapple with maybe a hint of coconut. It's certainly not displeasing but not my favorite.I can't give it 5* as I think their D:fi D:Sculpt is better, it has a more masculine fragrance and the consistency is more inline with the American Crew fiber which I feel like makes the product last longer as it is so easy to use less. I have always shied away from hair products because they all ended up making my hair look greasy or dirty sooner after applying. I just got this stuff today and I tried it for the first time. I had Semi damp hair because i felt the texture and I knew that it would mix better than my hair being dry. It worked amazing!! It has a coconut smell which isn't so bad. It's a light smell and you don't smell it once its in your hair. I did not use very much about enough to give the inside tip of my finger. Rub it into your palms and fingers and just smear it in your hair then style it. It forms well with my hair and it did what I wanted once it was fully mix with my hair. I did not have to keep trying to push my hair back into position. I tried Vilain Golddiger/Silver Fox, Style Sexy hair 7 hold/7 shine prior to this and this one is amazing! Nice hold, not too much shine and no crunchy hair. I've also used Paul Mitchell Wax Works and Redken Wax. I like this better than both products. The only downsides are: a) your hair needs to be almost completely dry before applying and b) if you overdo it your hair can wind up a sticky mess. When i ordered this product i was a bit skeptical because a lot of people told me that American crew fiber was great but unfortunately it turned out to be terrible, but i have to say this is the first time that a hair product has blew me away. When you style your hair with this product it literally holds all day but it doesn't make your hair feel stuck together like American crew fiber and it doesn't make your hair rock solid like some gels would do. It holds your hair exactly as i like it but it is still very pliable throughout the day. This allows you to restyle your hair at any time, it is easily the best hair product i have used by far. It doesn't feel like you have much product in your hair at all and certainly doesn't look like you have any in your hair because it is matte. It actually conditions your hair as you use it as well.
