A little goes a long way with this product. I have psoriasis pretty badly and I constantly have white scaly flakes all over my scalp. When I shake my hair all the loose flakes fall like snow. After just one treatment as you can see in the picture about 90% The flakes are gone maybe even more.First thing I did was lather my scalp up thoroughly and then put my hair in a hair clip and continued with the rest of my shower. The last thing I did was rinse that out and the results were pretty amazing.I highly recommend this product if you have psoriasis and don’t want to go to the doctor to get a referral to go to a specialist doctor in order to get medicated shampoo when you know what the problem is. I have 2C curls and color-treated hair.This stuff REALLY breaks down the gunk buildup on my scalp. I have eczema and seborrheic dermatitis and have awful reactions to regular hair products. It itches like crazy, and before I know it, there are scabs and dried blood built up on my scalp. Ok, enough about the nasty. That was to give you an idea of how bad it can get.In the shower, I focus mostly on lathering up the scalp. This shampoo can be quite drying, so I try to avoid running it through the ends of my hair.It slightly "conditions" which should really only be considered "detangling", because there is nothing about this product that makes your hair luscious. It's good enough to run a comb through when you're done washing your hair, and fairly soft, but you aren't going to see this product reduce frizz and breakage or add a lovely shine. Additional products for those things should be focused on the ends and stay far away from the scalp. I swear, managing scalp conditions is a torturous affair for those with dry, curly hair.There's no real scent to speak of. It truly is unscented. I keep trying other products (I'm obsessed with finding a scalp-safe product that leaves my hair with a lovely fragrance), but I just keep coming back to this unscented shampoo because it REALLY WORKS. It breaks down the buildup and zaps the itch within 2-3 uses.I hope this helps! I strongly recommend this shampoo. It has been a game-changer for my mostly black wardrobe and my bed pillows. I love this stuff!!!! It smells good and does it’s job. I have really bad scalp psoriasis and I saw results immediately after one wash. 75% of the crust was off and my scalp felt relieved and fresh. I've been having problems with the scalp around the lower part of my head and around my ears... I've been using Head and Shoulders, but it still wasn't quite doing the job.... so now I do the first scrub with H&S, and the second scrub with this shampoo.... makes a huge difference... also makes my hair easier to manage after I dry it.... I'm glad I found this one. UPDATE: I'm really pleased with this product as I use it every time I shower and the area where I had the problem is drying up better than I expected. I had a sudden bout with scalp psoriasis and saw an article that recommended this shampoo. It worked perfectly for my scalp and does an OK job leaving my hair in decent condition. I have longer color treated hair and this is supposed to be a shampoo and conditioner in one product. I can get a comb through my hair after washing but it's not a soft as when I use a regular conditioner. It's a fair trade for the amazing job it did on my scalp. I think I’ve found the one thing that can help my scalp! I’ve been trying different shampoos and conditioners(I.e head and shoulders), and natural remedies(I.e apple cider vinegar wash) and nothing worked. I was getting frustrated because I could see the dandruff still flaking up after rinsing out my hair of all these attempts. However, when I tried this I saw no dandruff! Combing threw my hair I may have saw 3 specs compared to before where my entire scalp seemed to be breaking out from dry spouts. I’ve been using this shampoo for over year. This was my second order from Amazon. I typically just buy it at Wal-Mart, but didn’t want to deal with the Corona! Anyway, this helps control the itch quiet a bit and assist with the build up fairly decent. Of course it’s not perfect it’s not going to stop the flaking completely or not even substantially, but I find it helpful for controlling itch and helping with the other side effects and some flake control. I’ve used a lot of various products out there and thus far seems to help me the most. Not saying it will help you as everyone is different but it helps me enough that I keep buying it. Read more
