I was introduced to the Davine's line by my hair stylist. I LOVE the dry texturizing spray, it smells amazing and makes my hair look great, so I thought I'd try the mousse. When the can of spray arrived, there was no lid, therefore it would be possible to bump the top and have it dispense product accidentally. According to previous reviews, this has happened with this product before. I figured I could maybe live with that, though, if I really like how it worked, so I tried it. The smell is awful - really awful. It smells like a chemical of some kind. I washed my hair at night and could smell it even when I went to bed. The smell was gone by the next morning but I'd hate to wash my hair in the morning and have it smell like that for several hours after when others could smell it. It also didn't work well as a mousse. I tried to not put too much on, as I'd read in other reviews, but it still didn't make my hair look good. It almost looked dry and it didn't have a sheen or flow - it looked like I needed to wash it again. Davine's other products are wonderful, but I wouldn't buy this mousse again. I emailed Amazon about it and by the next morning I had a refund to my credit card plus don't have to ship it back so Amazon covered it for me. I'm just going to throw this container away. Read more

This is a great product. That being said, I have learned my lesson about buying Davines from this seller. I received my “This is volume boosting mousse” with a broken top and dent in the container. Most of the time, I would disregard these damaged aesthetics, however after using it, it just smelled like an old aerosol product and did little for my hair. My hair is super short, but that doesn't mean it doesn't need some boost and body. I have baby fine hair and even though it's short, if I don't use a boosting or body building mousse it hangs down like a six year old's hair cut gone wrong. My stylist turned me on to Davines a year ago and I haven't looked back. It smells great, gives my hair a nice boost of body and an extra shine that looks great! I was hoping to find the Davines mousse that I've used for years but can no longer find at any local salons. This product held up as well as the original but it has a very strong scent that I do not like. The scent is nothing like the original product. It may not be offensive to everyone but it's bad enough to me to prevent me from using it. Read more
