While ginseng has benefits for most of us, and the Koreans and Chinese have harvested and used it for centuries, the American harvesting rules are often ignored and the act is sometimes as violent as the illicit drug trade. In Asia, it is typically farmed... here we even have TV shows that show how dangerous and violent it can be to harvest the wild one in the Appalachians. The government tries to enact laws to protect the wild one which is becoming more endangered, but they have little luck enforcing these.While these work, they should list that the American GInseng used is sustainably farmed. This would add value to the product, as for some reason our capitalist society makes it more profitable to do illegal things in a market that is civilised overseas. In the meantime, we should all stick to suitably farmed products. I am rating this product four stars as it does the job and it may be safer than some foreign products... but I would still consider a brand that lists it being farmed in the USA as a more sustainable product versus just American Ginseng from a certain state. Swallow quick, I had to refill my water glass and when these melted open in the mouth, I didn't like it, at all.Beyond that, these seem to be a good ginseng product IMO.American ginseng, versus imported I can go for, that works.I do admit to being just a bit confused by the nutritional label though.120 capsules, and 56 doses? Dose level 2 g(rams)?How is one supposed to accumulate that extra 0.142857 grams (or count?) per dose?Still, a good ginseng can be difficult to find and this seems to be a good one. Read more

When evaluating a supplement that one has taken before, one can only look it over and use it to see if it provides the same desired effect and offers no noticeable differences to one's normal brand. In this case, I have taken Ginseng for years, but never the American variety. I chose this because I had read that this is more effective for the purposes that I use it for than the Korean Ginseng. I would have to say that it does seem to do a better job and I would totally do this agian. Read more
