I had some similar to these that I used for my own children when they were toddlers. These do not work as well because you have to take the whole lock off to open the cabinet but on the others you only had to slide them and they stayed on. This is apparently the new design of most of these type of baby locks, and it's not as good as the ones from 10 years ago which had a button you pressed to unlatch the second piece. With these, you need intense finger strength to press the center piece so you can slide that section off the sticks. It always feels like the tiny tab pieces I am pressing on are going to snap off and break - therefore making my cabinet closed forever and ever with no way to open it again unless I saw through the remaining pieces and break them loose. There has to be a better way, but since these are all that are available these will do for now. Read more

I bought these because my beloved cats are tiny jerks that like to pull down towels, chew through bread wrappers, and push out plates and cups so they can use the spot as their own personal shelf. They work great, I just wish it was a tad bit easier to open. Unlike babies, my cats don't have opposable thumbs, so making it that difficult to open isn't necessary for us. I wish there was a separate market for pet owners, but these serve their purpose well. Read more

I bought these for some of the lower cabinets in our kitchen. Each lock has two parts: The first is a long U shape, and other is a clip mechanism. The U-shape has triangular teeth (not sharp) on the back side. As you slide the clip over the legs of the U, the teeth snap in, locking the clip in place. To take it off, you pinch the clip and the teeth disengage, allowing you to slide off the clip.I tried one as a test, and tightened it down. There was still enough room for small hands to get in the cabinet, so I tightened further, locking the whole mechanism tightly against the door handles. When I tried to release the lock, it was very difficult to disengage because of how tight it was against the handles. After removing it (took a couple minutes) I found a better position that allowed a snug fit without the risk of my toddler's fingers getting pinched.I think these are an excellent product, but they do take a little bit of testing to find the right tightness for your handles. These work as described, I just wish they were a little longer for certain cabinet handles. They are harder to get open than ones we’ve had previously which is good- more toddler proof. Good for the price. Read more

I have 2 three-year old boys and a 1 year old boy. They are busy!! My kitchen was being raided and torn apart on a daily basis, and these locks have been a life saver. My cupboards have handle style hardware, not knobs, and they fit perfectly. They're just hard enough to use that my little guys can't open them, but my 10 year old is still able to access what he needs. I am very happy with them! Read more

Pinching together the teeny tabs to open the lock is very difficult and awkward. Note the line that talks about how "easy" it is to open a kid proof pill bottle? That should have been the tip-off for me. Also, the parts of the locking mechanism must be completely separated to open the cabinet, leaving two pieces to lose or get mouthed by a child. Up side? These are working out great to child proof our kitchen for tge grandchildren. They have a limited span so only work as designed for cabinet doors with two handles close together, however I was able to work around that by coupling two together.NOTE TO SUPPLIER: why not offer a second, longer version?!? Very simple to put on and off, with zero assembly or holes. They secure the cupboard from opening when on, yet are quick and easy to remove. I was so pleased to find a product that worked equally well for both knobs and handles. Excellent value for the money. Read more
