This is great stuff! As you can see, my hair is a salt and pepper gray naturally. I used the copper colored Hair Makeup. It goes on like a styling product, covers well and looks gorgeous! It washed out the next day with no problem. I am trying the Ruby color next! It's a great way to change your look with no commitment! Read more

I knocked off one star simply because the color payoff isn't easy to achieve. I have pretty dark brown, 2c-3a curly hair. This was my first Curlsmith product and I'd gone into this knowing that I'd be scrunching in a lot of gel throughout and after the diffusing process. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT 3 FL OZ IS NOT A LOT OF PRODUCT - curlies, you know the deal. I was left with a super cute shimmery, slightly lighter version of my dark hair, which a few people actually did notice. Could I have used the bottle in one fell swoop to be pinker? Absolutely, but I did not want to waste the whole bottle on a test run. I'll use the remainder all in one shot when I have some kind of event or something this spring.HOWEVER, I was SHOOK by the effects of the actual styling gel! My hair curled like it hadn't curled in YEARS. It looked amazing and the hold lasted for 4-5 days. This product made me want to switch up all of my curly products and exclusively go Curlsmith. Love this product bought this in shower gel by mistake happy I did. I did put little bit of oil as I always do to my scalp hence the shine. I have low porosity very dry hair. It has a nice hold and almost zero flaking. I am happy with it. It's a bit pricey unfortunately and has 1 dirty aka red flag ingredients FRAGRANCE ! I also can live without phenoxyethanol & methylisothaizolione being though I have mild exzama. No relation yet. Other wise it would of been 5 stars! Read more
I'm so disappointed. I been wanting to try this product for the longest. This is the only brand I know that has rose gold and I love the color in my hair. However this is nothing like hair paint wax when it comes to pigmentation. This does not show well on darker hair. It made my curls look dusty and it flakes extremely. My shirt and pillows are a mess. Even shaking my curls out flakes fall everywhere. Not a fan. It may show great on someone whose hair is blonde or bleached. And for $20 it was not worth it. Wish I could get a refund. This was the best pic I could get to show it and I had my ring light on. Read more
Fun product that offers buildable color for a subtle or dramatic effect. It's messy and gets everywhere, so don't wear any clothing you care about when applying. It feels a bit dry/ crunchy, which is normal for a hair gel. Heavily fragranced. Overall I enjoyed the effect of the product and would purchase again to try other colors. Read more
I got this for my daughter who's wanted to play in hair color, but I was worried about products damaging her hair. The color was so vibrant. I didn't use gloves to apply and afterward it washed, actually rinsed it off my hands very easily. Because of how easy it came off my hands, I was worried about transfer, but ther were no issues with her clothes or the bonnet she slept in. The color did fade over a few days, but she made it to wash day, no problem. Smells so amazing and her hair texture felt great the whole time it was in. Read more
I normally love - no, adore - Curlsmith products. Very sadly, this one is nowhere near as good as their hair care range. The colour turned out more like some sort of copper (was supposed to be red), but while that was ok and would be different on different hair colours etc, the worst part was that it made it feel awful. It just looked caked and gross, and the casting made it hard and crunchy, it didn’t feel like hair anymore! I’m so glad to have been able to get it all out after one wash. I’ve gone and purchased some actual temporary hair dye instead to do the job properly. Such a shame, their other hair care products are the best I’ve found and I’d had such high hopes for this one.
