I have naturally curly heat damaged hair that sadly doesn't hold a curl anymore no matter how much gel and curl activator I use. My daughter has a ton of hair, never holds a curl longer than an hour - no matter what I do! Even with curlers or rags, her hair never dried in time and they weren't comfortable to sleep in.I bought these for Christmas, and we finally tried them last night.It did take awhile to put them all in - but I imagine it'll get easier as I get more efficient at the process. Answer to my Prayers!I have super fine straight hair & it is difficult to get body. It is difficult to hold a curl. It is a pain to have a style! Not with these, OMG It makes beautiful long lasting curls and is so easy I can put my curlers in without even looking in a mirror. I don't even need to use product although I do sometimes, just a smidge. I just have to make sure my hair drys completely. I never thought I could have these kind of curls until now. I loveeeee these curlers! I constantly dye my hair so to avoid further damage, I never use heating tools in my hair (blow driers or hot curlers). Foam rollers tend to leave me looking like Shirley temple and the curls take too long to settle down. These though, big fan! Threading isn’t always perfect, takes some practice but wayyyyy quicker to put in than to use a curling iron. I wash my hair, put these in & sleep on them. They’re a little stiff but usually I wrap them in a bandana and move all of it to the side & sleep fine. They also smoosh down fine in softer pillows. I have super straight hair naturally that has a very hard time curling and staying curled. These do the trick soooo well!! People are always surprised to see my hair curled and LOVE how beautiful they come out. I’m a big fan! My hair has grown so much now that I’ll be buying the longer ones. I have really curly hair and have never needed (nor do I have any experience using) curlers of any kind. A friend suggested I use these for my daughters (both have straight hair) in order to get the right style for their dance recital/pictures. These are SO easy to use and work great. My five year old has TONS of long hair and while she didn't find these extremely comfortable to sleep in, she said they didn't hurt at all going in or coming out and she LOVED her curls. Purchased these to use on my daughter's unruly hair. We have a school program coming up and it's always a pain to curl her hair and takes forever. The curlers went in easily without complaint from my little one. It only took about 20 minutes to get them all in and let them set for a couple of hours. Did a few larger sections that did not dry completely before I took them out, but it was practice attempt. The curlers came out easily and did not pull her hair. Very happy with the end result!My daughter has a tender head and does not like to have her hair fixed or wear ponytails, so it was a big deal that she did not complain at all about them being uncomfortable. I grew up a tomboy (still kind of am), so when it comes to doing my hair, I'm pretty terrible at it. Thus the reason these appealed to me. I was a little annoyed with them at first because my hair kept falling off the hook, but once I got the hang of it, I made quick work of getting them all in my hair. I then just went about my every day stuff around the house until my hair was dry, and VOILA!! I would definitely recommend these. Was looking for something to curl my fine and relatively straight hair without damaging heat and these may well be the answer. I watched a few youtube tutorials on how to use these before purchasing and that really helped to get a few tips (make sure your hair is damp not wet, comb it through thoroughly and don't try apply to too big a section of hair). My hair is currently shoulder length and first time I used them I also used a curl define product. Used the curlformers as per instructions (for my hair approximately half of this pack was enough) I started the drying process by heating them with my hair dryer for a few minutes then left them in for probably 2-3 hours, then curiosity and impatience got the better of me and I removed them.I was pleasantly surprised to find that the curls had formed really well in this time - a little too well actually, when I first took them out it looked like I'd acquired a "Shirley Temple" perm! but with a bit of combing through and some hair serum the curls did drop to give a natural spiral curl. I'm considering purchasing the wider barrel curl version for a looser curl.Downside - they are quite annoying to wear and quite noisy when you move your head around and I doubt very much that I could sleep in them and you do need plenty of time for your hair to dry completely so unless you can sleep in them I think you could only realistically use them if you are basically staying in all day! Great fun to ringlet hair, a bit tricky to do with no help but my daughters can manage to do each others and it’s all good fun. Once you get the hang of it, they're quick and easy to use. Sleeping in them is easier / more comfortable if I put them lower in my hair, so that my head doesn't rest of them. My hair comes down to my bra strap! Good curl, but you need to make sure it is completely dry before removing, else the curl will drop and look awful. Curl too tight for me - I ended up looking like an 80's throw back with a bad poodle perm - I think perhaps I should have gone for the barrel size, but to give more interest to an up-do, they're fine. Quite an expensive product in comparison to similar products on the market however they are quite easy to use and did produce very nice long lasting curls when applied to damp hair and left in for a few hours. I personally would struggle to sleep in them as the plastic is quite hard and they can pull a little. It took me a few times to get the hang of it as I was doing it on my own hair and I’m honestly crap at doing hair in general. Very easy and simple to use when I did get the hang of it though.
