It was perfect. I had rotator cuff surgery for the 2nd time recently and have also had 5 back surgeries previously. I only wish I had known about this product before I had ANY surgeries !!! To say that I'm happy with the product is just not enough to explain just how much I value this machine. BEST MONEY IVE EVER SPENT on a medical typr device. NOTE: I submitted a doctors prescription to Medicare that noted it was medically necessary for post surgical recovery along with a copy of my payment invoice and MEDICARE REIMBURSED MY TOTAL COST 100 % . First let me say that I have had zero problems with this device and I believe that is because I brew beer and have a significant amount of experience with light duty submersible pumps like what is used here. My explanation is a bit nerdy, give me a thumbs up if you would like to see a video if that will explain it better. It is highly likely that those neg reviewers didn't understand how this type of pump works. The sellers photo shows a person sitting with their injury very close and low to the ice box. This is a non self priming light duty submersible pump it isnt designed for you to lay in bed and pump water the length of the tubing nearly verical against gravity. Worry not if you need to do this I had to this laying in bed myself. If you are using it high above the box, just move the box to a night stand or something higher so that you are not fighting gravity with more than a twonfoot verticle climb from the top of the PUMP not the ice box. This is the best way but there is one more option. The first way will help your ice last slightly longer because the pump will not get as warm.If you must pump ice water vertically for over 2.5 feet from the ground then make sure that you turn the pump on before putting the pad on your body. In fact lay it down at ground level to make sure that the lines are primed. Also, you must check for kinks in the line EVERY TIME even a few minutes of very low or no flow will damage the pump.Follow the ice and water level instructions exactly by putting the water in first. If you put more ice bc you think the ice will just melt after a bit and then you'll have closer to the proper water level and not have to fill the ice box as often to boot... think again. If you don't like any of thos options then buy a similar $350 $750 one with a heavy duty pump. I will warn you that if you neglect that more expensive one you'll ruin it just the same.Side notes, this device should be used by no more than two people daily, i mean if you are putting this in your medical office you are nuts. Get a commercial cryo like you should. Also the way this device's water tubes connect with the pad is the most common and most reliable for protecting against leaks. Should you need a specialty pad of some kind it will most likely fit this pump. Read more

This is a well made product and I am extremely happy with it. The tubes don't leak or come undone. In fact I detached it while wearing it to get up to go to the bathroom and it did not leak from the part wrapped around my knee nor did the hoses left with the box leak. You get the perfect coldness that gradually gets warmer from pumping it back and forth from your body back to the chest. I couldn't be happier with this unit. Read more

The media could not be loaded.  Stop. Just order this because I PROMISE it’s what you NEED.I had a total knee replacement & it had been suggested I use an ice machine. BEST advice EVER & this machine is perfect for your needs AND price.First, it stays cold for a VERY long time. I use one skinny blue ice pack & 3 frozen basic water bottles, then tap water to the line & a scoop or 2 of ice & it’s PERFECT for hours (I sleep in it, it keeps cold long & it is comfy enough, too.)Next it’s cute. I live in FL & both my huz & I giggle that it matches our home’s decor. The turquoise water hose is long & flexible, you just make sure it’s not kinked (kinks=no flow.)The cream colored scrappy thing in the box? Well, that’s your carry strap & yes, you want to attach it (click-click-BOOM, it’s attached) to carry it to wherever you’re gonna chill (pun fully intended.) The unit isn’t heavy to carry even when filled and the electric cord is long & generous making plugging in aaaanywhere simple. Also making moving about easy is the detachable ice pad. With 2 snaps you can unattach the pad on your knee from the unit cord to go to the bathroom, grab a snack, let the dog out, whatevs. Just make sure you have a towel or 2 available because after you turn the machine off & detach there will still be water left in either side of the hose.To keep the ice pad on your knee you use the 2 Velcro straps that come with it HOWEVER you do need to use a barrier between the pad & your skin (I use a bandana.)It runs quietly (see the video) AND it has several timer options, including a continuous choice, so you can confidently use it while you sleep. Fun fact: when you turn it on the initial flow of cold water goes thru the pad & you feel it all & it tickles, so prepare to giggle. To wrap it up: this machine is PERFECT for post knee surgery recovery. The size, the coldness, the ease of use, the comfort it gives & the price are ALL perfecto for your needs. I could NOT recommend this ENOUGH for quicker recovery & keeping that knee comfortable. Because IYKYK. Read more

Got this to help with hubby's post-knee surgery and was helpful to reduce swelling and ease pain without using meds. Followed other recommendations to use frozen water bottles instead of ice cubes -- brilliant! Ice cubes melt way too fast. I used the really small "mini" water bottles and some regular and large sizes since the small ones fit well in the bottom of the unit while you can fit regular/large ones on top. This made the unit water stay really cold for hours before having to swap them out. Filled in around the bottles with ice (even though they melt first). Read more

Total knee replacement. This machine brought instant relief as soon as it was turned on. I would definitely recommend this ice machine. Just don’t disconnect hoses untilyou are completely (I mean after all I’ve therapy is completed) we used a different one at first and disconnecting the hose every time it was used caused it to leak.
