I didn't have any luck with this because it left a yellow residue in my hair even though I was only using a little bit. Also, didn't really do much for my edges. I wear my hair short and I know some folks tie their hair down to help the edge control lay flat and I don't want to have to do that. So I found  Taliah Waajid Curls, Waves and Naturals Hairline Help 2 in 1 Hair Care, 2 Ounce  and it works exactly how I would like for it to work. This product will definitely slick down the edges of your hair and give you a slick look. My hair is fine, like soft cotton and easily absorbs water, so this product works better than others to keep it neat. I used this to keep my braids looking neat around the hairline, HOWEVER the breakage was serious! Once I took my braids down it was very noticeable that the front edges of my hair were very damaged and broken down to about an inch. I did rinse the edges after using the product and moisturize routinely to try to stop any damage, but it was still pretty severe.You might be OK if you have very strong hair. Read more

THIS HOLDS MY HAIR AWESOME.....FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES.I don't understand what happens. I'm going to washing my hair tomorrow and try it on fresh clean hair, but I doubt that it works. I apply it with a brush and toothbrush at one point, but it actually causes my hair to curl back up. I now apply with it with my fingers and wrap my edges up for 30 minutes. This product works great to smooth edges on any hair type. I am wearing my hair natural and this gel holds my edges very well. I dampen my edges, apply this gel (you don't need a lot), seal it with eco-styler gel, then tie the edges down until it dries or use a blow dryer if you can't wait for your hair to air dry. I recommend this gel for Black women who are transitioning to natural as well as those who are already sporting the natural look. Its OK. Think it's my hair type is hard to find things that hold my hair in place. It does not hold unless I apply then wear scarf to keep flat till it completely dries. I'd have to do my hair at night put on a scarf to sleep then it'll be ready in the morning and I cab do that with regular gell. I have yet to find something that can put on and know it will hold my super soft hair in place with out the extra prep. Read more

This has the consistency of a firm gel and is clear. It goes on OK and flattens (mixed/frizzy) hair down at the hairline/edges, but after about 2-3 hours the hair just curls right back up and is kind of greasy and hard. So you are simply left with greasy/hard frizz instead of just frizz.There are definitely better edge products out there, and the Cantu one is around the same price but does a better (but not perfect) job.It DOES smell nice though and it might work better on fine/caucasian hair. This is the best edge control I have ever, and I mean ever used. It holds my hair all day. I work 12hrs a day, I put it on in the morning and it holds my hair till 8pm. It doesn't leave white particles on the root of my hair too, and has a beautiful scent. Read more
