These Covergirl eye enhancer singles fit that criteria very nicely at a value price point.I have three shades, but have mostly abandoned one of them.Bedazzled Biscotti - is the perfect neutral shimmer. However, it is dryer and flakes, which still arent the reason I don't reach for this one anymore, but it has a high volume of silver glitter. It will fall under your eyes. In some cases, that under eye glitter can be pretty, but most days for me no.Tapestry Taupe - Perfection. This is a brown-grey shimmer, which shifts a bit according to what I'm wearing. Super versatile, perfect mid-pigmentation. I can layer this on, and it's the perfect fast pulled together eye look.Champagne - A nice vanilla shimmer, it is great as a brow bone highlighter, inner eye, or a quick all over color.Highly recommend these as a quick, inexpensive, tried and trusted eye shadow option! I love this color. It's the only shadow I'm currently wearing. I'm 60 and preferences a neutral palette. I mostly all I wear for makeup is this shadow, a bit of liner, and mascara. Boom, out the door. Lipstick or gloss if I'm feeling it. Actual foundation and blush for special occasions.This goes on smooth and is long wearing. Doesn't irritate. I ordered Covergirl's Urban Basics eye shadow because I wanted some light purpleish colors. The eye shadow that showed up is named Urban Basics, but there is not a single purpleish color in the kit. It comes with a white-ish color, light sparkly tan, goldish brown, and gray. I'm pretty disappointed. It's confusing because they do not provide the color number in the product description. I’m 63 and haven’t worn blue eyeshadow since….middle school? And I wouldn’t even have considered using it but I saw a closeup photo of a not very young model who was wearing a VERY slightly blue eyeshadow and it looked nice enough for me to look for light blue eyeshadows. I don’t “do” the multi layered/colored eye shadow-just a base over my eyelids. There are a ton of cobalt and other distinctly blue eyeshadows on here and in stores but the most sheer one AND the least expensive was this one. I really like this product because I can and do use a small amount so it really only lightens my eyelids with just a hint of blue. I got #102sweet escape. Upon arrival the first thing i noticed was that the colours are out of order from the pictures, but it's not a big deal. This little trio is perfect for every day wear. Each shade is a shimmery wash of colour, with the darkest shade being the most pigmented. None of the shades are matte, they all reflect light. If you are used to super pigmented shadows, just keep in mind that these are not like those. These are more sheer but you can definitely still see the shade. I have yet to test the staying power of these shadows but they go on super easy and look beautiful on the lid. Read more

Tapestry Taupe is one of those colors that looks good on most skin tones and eye colors. It's a brown with a grayish cool undertone. It's not glittery by any means but it's not matte, either. It gives a nice shimmer on the eyelid and can easily be worn by itself or in combination with other colors. You can create a simple look with this shadow by using it alone or you can add other shades for dimension. It's a great shadow to have in your makeup collection. I've been using it for years on my NC15 skin and my light blue eyes ~ it looks great!* I've noticed that the 1 star reviews are not because of the color/quality of the shadow, rather people are upset about receiving a broken shadow. I have used a number of different shades of this brand for many years. This color " Champagne" is okay but a little too shimmery. The price is right and the product is okay.The reason for my 1 star review is because of Amazon's really poor packaging. I had ordered 2 of this color and they were dropped into the box along with other purchases. As to be expected they rattled around during shipping and 1 arrived with the powder literally crushed. The 2nd pkg. was intact.I had also ordered 2 other eyeshadows of another color, same brand. They were shipped in individual bubble wrap sleeves. They arrived intact.This isn't rocket science. Someone needed to go a small extra step and put the first 2 compacts in bubble wrap sleeves as well. Read more

I love this eye shadow, mainly for the purpose that I use this to fill my very fine, light looking brows. They work get and I find it stays long on even through the summer and rain (so far). I definitely recommend this for whatever purpose you need.I’m only giving it 4 / 5 stars because once you hit pan, be careful with the product because it will break if you drop it (like I always do).
