I will be comparing these with Q-Tips cotton swabs. For my ears the Q-Tips are good and for years I used Q-Tips for polishing things in my Dremel tool. Over the years the Q-Tips had less cotton and are not consistent in size so I recently started to use these Cotton Tipped Applicators for cleaning and polishing. The cotton tip varies in size a bit but they are all tightly wound so they are much better for cleaning and polishing than Q-Tips. They last longer, do not spin apart, and work better.These work very well for cleaning guns and polishing and being tightly wound they do not spin apart in the Dremel tool. If your application requires a tightly wound cotton swab these will work wonderfully well for you. The wooden shafts are as sturdy as they look, they are not flimsy but they will snap if enough pressure is applied. So far I have not broken any, they are much more sturdy than the Q-Tip shafts are. The cotton tipped applicators were to clean my dog's ears. While they work fine, I recommend using the 6" applicators since they are easier to use for this particular situation. They are quite sturdy and seem to be a great deal. Would definitely recommend them. Read more
