It has blades, check, makes noise, check, but doesn't actually cut anything. Your hairs get caught in the blades, then get torn out when you move the clippers away from your head; no actual hairs are cut. I called customer service, after they hung up on me once, they couldn't explain why this thing doesn't work. Really disappointing, given long lead times for shipping and returns these days (and I need a haircut). I don't get it, not sure what's wrong-should be simple, eh? My old conair professional from 15 yrs ago out performs this brand new one. I bought it to use as a trimmer and the motor just doesn’t seem to have enough power. Quite disappointed conair. This cut well as you would expect brand new clippers to do, and came in a nice case with accessories.The problem was that the body of the clippers very quickly heated up and was painful to handle. Using this for any length of time (or for grooming your animal at home) is impossible.We ended up having to finish with a wet cloth around the body of the clippers in order to cool it enough to even hold on to.Unfortunately, we didn't try these out until after the return window, or I would have definitely asked for a refund. I got this hair cutting machine for myself, a mid 30's male. Because i recently cut off my very long hair I've had growing for years, almost my whole adult life I had it long. But I started going bold, so I figured finally it's time. I just cut it all off and shaved my head completely. And I wanted to keep that up, but I quickly realized how not easy that is to keep up. If I shaved once a week with my good Gillette razor, my skin would be burning n sensitive for days after every time, and the shaving itself took WAY longer than I anticipated. So I'd find myself in my bathroom in front of the mirror with my arms aching, exhausted and realize I've been there like 40 minutes already. So it really just too long n too much effort to keep up. So I came here to Amazon actually to search for a electric head shaver. But I realized that would probably take almost as long, and the reviews were saying it isn't really cutting much closer than regular clippers..... So I started looking for regular clippers instead. Lol. I figured I'll try that, and if I'm very unhappy with what it leaves, I'll shave with my razor afterwards, it would make the shave way way faster n easier. So I ended up selecting this kit. Mostly cause Conair is a name I know. And after my first time using it. I didn't bother shaving afterwards, and I figured, it's so much quicker, easier, less painful, than shaving. And the results are while not exactly like a shave, more like 2 or 3 days after a shave. But good enough for me for the payoff.Now my next issue was, that now a week later, I have still very short hair, but long enough that I want it off, so I wasn't sure how the machine will handle such short hair. I of course always have it get to the shortest setting, with no attachments used.... But I wasn't sure it could cut such short hair... But I was very pleasantly surprised by how well it did. The clippers were light and easy to control. The problem I had was they didn't cut very well. I keep my hair very short, yet these had a hard time cutting cleanly. I had to make multiple passes and there were still areas that weren't cut cleanly. I even went extra slow. I had a pair of conair clippers before, and they cut MUCH better. They were still working but the #1 cutting tool wouldn't stay in place. I wouldn't recommend these. Read more

I Just had my hair cut with these during quarantine pandemic. The cut very nicely and came with all the requisite cutting utensils. The included apron is garbage quality and you will throw it away after 1 use. The ties that hold it together pulled straight out of it almost immediately. The taper control was confusing to my wife. Replaced an old unit that used a rechargeable NiCad battery that wouldn't hold a charge nor keep running while plugged in. This clipper is powerful and does a great job. It has the same set of guides which snap on to the clippers and support lengths from 1/8" to 1". The clipper is a bit heavier likely due to the more powerful motor. Clipping hair takes a bit of practice. If you have not used clippers like this before, I recommend watching some YouTube videos (many provided by Conair) to get some types on how to do it. Read more

Product arrived quickly, however it has only been used 5 times for cutting adult and child hair and it has stopped working properly. Hair continues to get caught in the blades and the sharp edges have cut my sons skin on the back of his neck. He now refuses to let us cut his hair.
