Bought this little dryer almost exactly two years ago and for all of that time it has functioned adequately - it's not very fancy and I didn't expect more than that from it. However - I did not expect it to start smoking very seriously - as if it intended to burst into flame - which is what it did tonight. No fire, thank goodness, but it is now a dead duck. For the money I suppose it did okay, but I would caution potential owners to watch it carefully as mine was likely not the only one of these dryers with this potentially dangerous defect.Won't be replacing it with another Conair .... I bought one of these 4-5 years ago. Fairly good airflow for its small size and relatively quiet operation - very happy with it. Then my wife's hair dryer died, and she liked mine, so I got her one for Christmas 2018 (exact same model). Looks identical - but airflow is MUCH lower. I would have returned this if I had known the air flow was so bad, but my wife said nothing. Then I used it on an August morning when we were leaving on vacation (mine was already packed). YUCK!! When we got back, I gave her the choice of hair dryers - once she tried both together, there was no doubt - she now has mine, I have hers. My hair is relatively short and thin, so this will marginally work for me, although the low setting is so bad I don't even bother to use it anymore. I once wrote a glowing review of this product - I can't even recommend this for anyone anymore. I'm sure it's another case of violating the rule 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' to save a few pennies. In the technology world, the saying is "faster, cheaper, better - pick any two" (i.e., when you try to make any two happen, the third goes the wrong way). This lightweight, compact, slim design hair dryer is a price, design and function leader.I absolutely love the force of hot air when on high for cold mornings. I have short hair so only wave it around a bit so not real worried about hair damage, but be careful it does heat up when on high. If you just flip your hair and wave the dryer never staying in the same spot and feeling excessive heat on your scalp will be your method with this hair dryer.Imo there is not a better bang for the buck hair dryer around, this thing has it all...price, performance, design, size, function, etc. Read more

A few weeks ago my hairdryer died on me. I looked at Target the next day but didn't see one I liked. I ended up buying this Conair model because I wasn't looking for anything too fancy. I must say I like this hair dryer much more than my old one. My old hairdryer used to scald my scalp but this model doesn't when it is on hot. I don't spend much drying (under ten minutes) my hair. I've paid $10 for hair dryers and $50 for hair dryers.Then, I used this exact hair dryer at a hotel and I swear to God it felt like my hair was woven of the wings of angels. I don't know what it is about this cheap little hair dryer, but it is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for my hair.For the record, I have fine hair and use a blow dryer on the daily. I also use either a flat iron or a curling wand on top of the dryer. And my hair has never been more smooth, shiny, soft, and voluminous than when I've used this dryer.No bells or whistles, but hands down the best dryer I've ever used on my hair ever. Read more

The dryer is not as powerful as I had hoped. Ever since it’s first use, it seems very weak. I’ve had much better hair dryers for the same price. The back of the fan can easily suck long hair into the fan. After it did this the first time, the fan blows even more weak than before. I’m hesitant to continue using it anymore for fear of it sucking in my hair and catching on fire or something. Read more

Great easy blow dryer; it’s very light and gets the job done pretty quickly; if you’re looking to get a blow dryer in your house just because or to replace your old one, I would recommend this one, because of the price and decent quality you’re getting.
