Nice hair dryer, lower noise level compare to another 1875 watt hair dryer purchase form target. Blowing power is good, adjustable hot, warm, cold and speed setting works as expected. The fitting cover at the back is a little cumbersome to take off and put back on, but shouldn’t be much of a deal breaker if you’re not constantly opening the cover to clean. The retractable cord works well for now but time will tell if the retractable cord mechanism will last.Over all a nice hair dryer. Will update review if dryer does not preform as expected. Read more

Please spread this around. When the retractable cord starts getting stuck, spray the cord and inside the cord housing with silicon lubricant. I have revived several old retractable devices with this.That said, I am now buying our fourth Revlon hair dryer in a row, all either this model or an ancestor. I bought this dryer because I have had a Conair Cord Saver blow dryer previously. I love that the cord winds up into the handle and keeps it neat rather than a hot mess in my drawer or on my bathroom counter. I like the blowdryer and it's settings and I am a costmetologist by trade (although not practicing much any more other than family), and so I consider myself to be a little picky about blowdryers, and this one hit all of my requirements. One year into having the dryer and the cord is causing some issues - when I plug it in the cord has to be setting just right for the blow dryer to run. I am guessing the cord has a bit of a"short" in it and so it needs to set a certain way to "connect" and run. Hate having to buy a new one after only a year, but the price is decent on this dryer and I am sure the cord gets a fair amount of wear and tear getting pulled up into the unit every day. Although purple is my favorite color and the cord keeper feature is handy, those two factors were not enough to keep me from returning it.My previous hair dryer was the Revlon 1875 Ceramic Ionic model with infra-red technology that I purchased almost exactly 3 years ago and it was not drying my hair as well as it once had. The same hair dryer is still available but I wanted a better concentrator, so this is the model that I chose to try first.I noticed an improvement in drying speed immediately, but it felt so heavy! Next, the short cord proved to be an issue. Its tendency to twist up was annoying and I spent a good amount of time untwisting it while I was drying my hair. Lastly, I knew it did not have a hook/loop of any type (like my previous model has) but I thought that might not be a big deal. I have since learned that (for me) a hook/loop is a must-have.Before returning it, I bought the Infiniti Pro 1875 Watt Full Size Salon Performance AC Motor Styling Tool / Hair Dryer; Soft Touch Red (also by Conair). I wanted to be able to compare them, as well as get some stats like wind speed, weight, and decibels. So far I love it and have since returned this model. As you can see below, the Infiniti Pro is actually heavier (although it feels lighter), so I asked my husband's opinion on the three and he thought it felt like this model is not balanced very well. This is my favorite hair dryer. I bought my first one, in Magenta, years ago from a drug store. It finally died so I looked high and low in local stores to find the same model to replace it but no one carried it.I found it on Amazon and bought a blue one for a really reasonable price. It was very cheaply made and super loud. It ran hard but dried very little, so I returned it for the black model exclusive to Amazon. It was the same quality as my Magenta one.Sadly, it did not last nearly as long as my original magenta one, but I chalk that up to changing times. It lasted about 2 or so years give or take.The black one started to short out and I chucked it due to safety concerns.Sooo, here we are! I bought the purple one this this and it works very well. The temp controls work great so it gets hot and cold when I need them to. The hot setting is super hot to me so after a few minutes I switch the setting to warm and both me and my scalp are happy with that setting. So far so good and it hasn't shorted or tripped my plugs safety switch.The color is real pretty, the handle it very comfortable which is one reason I love this dryer so much. The angle that the handle curves makes this dryer very east to hold for long periods of time since it takes forever to dry my long, thick hair.The retractable cord it a must and my favorite feature on this unit. Space is an issue in my bathroom cabinet and I hate a loose cord or cords that you have to wind around and around to keep things clean and tidy in the limited space I have. The cord on mine retracts very well, although over time, if it's like the others I've had, it will need help and guidance to retract properly. The controls are easy to move while your working on your hair and the setting for the air speed works well too.I recieved the tools that come with the unit and to be honest, I never have used them so I can't attest to how well those work.Over all, if your looking for a decently priced hair dryer with a retractable cord, you can't go to wrong with this one. I hope Conair never discontinues this model since I think its the only retractable corded model on the market today.***UPDATE*****I wanted to add an update. We had an extra outlet installed in the centre of the ensuite's mirror (between his side, her side). Previously we were using a really good hair dryer but the cord constantly got caught in the drawer preventing it from closing. The automatic cord keeper is exactly what i had in mind and ended up purchasing this one. So far so good, the heat is adjustable (she uses high, and i use med heat level), the blower fan is good/average, but some others blow stronger.The cord keeper works perfect, but another foot of cord would be nice, the supplied amount is just enough, but barely. There is a red stripe to indicate you are near the end of the cable, so we keep that in mind so as not to damage it as others seemed to manage.The only real gripe is the plug likes to wiggle it's way out of the outlet from use, so I'm constantly pushing it back in. I have a practice of holding the cord while extending and retracting but i think my significant other doesn't hence why the plug is always coming out.Looks just as good if not better in person.I wouldn't consider this a portable unit. I am extremely disappointed. I bought this product in July, but because of quarantine, always at home, I used 10 times, at most! What was my surprise when after two weeks of my last use, I decide the use again and it was not working. Nothing happened, but it is not working.
