I am a product junkie and have tried so many different things until I find one I want to stick with. This is my go to toothpaste and I buy it on a regular basis. Covers all dental needs. Also, the whitening doesn't cause as much sensitivity as Crest, my dentist said it's because Crest's whiteners are more abrasive than Colgates. Read more

I have been using this toothpaste for years and a few months ago I purchased another brand at a great price but though my teeth were clean there was a difference. My mouth/teeth feels noticeably cleaner now that I have switched back to Total toothpaste. I wish the tubes were tamper proof because mine were sent in an envelope and the package was squished so when I got my toothbrush ready and finally got the really tough to open package opened, pulled out both tubes and lifted the cap off of one, the toothpaste went flying out of the tube. Thankfully, it was directed away from me and my reflexes were good, so I caught the first inch of toothpaste on my toothbrush. I brushed my teeth and it was more foamy an experience than I recall from tooth brushing. Ever. I've brushed my teeth thousands and thousands of times and this was the most bubbly in a good way. The tube is labeled as, "New Taste." ok, it's new but I don't know what that is. I like it and continue using it but I don't use the recommended inch since that's not truly necessary to clean my teeth, tongue and cheeks. Read more

This is an adequate fluoride toothpaste, but “whitening” is a false claim. It took EarthPaste to gently remove the stains and my teeth in just two weeks. My teeth are now beautiful, glistening white, no thanks to Colgate toothpaste which left me with yellow teeth; fluoride protected yellow teeth!Dear Colgate — After 60 years of brushing my teeth, I am seriously bored with mint. Cinnamon isn’t much better. Crest had a lemon flavored paste for a short while, but took it off the market, much to the disappointment of its many happy users. It tasted like lemon meringue pie! I have tried several different toothpastes; and, I love Colgate products. I have never had a cavity while using Colgate. When I tried Crest, I formed cavities. I also like the flavor. My dentist recommends Colgate Total & Sensodine (for sensitive teeth). The only thing I would caution you about is using Colgate’s Renewal if you have veneers on your teeth. Veneers don’t change color when using whitening toothpaste. In fact, it tends to cause veneers to become rough. Hope this helps. Read more
