I know. It’s 2 am and you’re tired and desperate to get your baby to sleep. Will this work? Maybe. For my 3 month old, it helped!! He loves the river water sound and it helps him fall asleep faster. Helps to drown out noise too. The other sounds have been helpful when we want to distract him in car rides. The only thing I wish is that there is an option to leave sound on constantly (vs 25 or 45 mins). Some of my friends told me their babies didn’t respond to this- but I say give it a try!!! I came accross this sheep four years ago with one of the children I was a nanny to. I loved it, it lasted long the sound quality was good and put baby(3 month old-1year and a half) to sleep no problem. Four years later I have my own baby and remembered this sheep. So I bought it. Unfortunately this sheep does not sound like the one before. I think mine is faulty. I turn the knob for sound and its like a radio, if I turn it all the way up its really quiet, It sounds ok if I turn the knob more midwayish. Its really bizarre! I bought this as a shower gift, but I also used it for my son when he was a baby. This was one of the only things that helped him sleep (other than riding with the windows down and a static radio channel on... who wants to do that?!). I like the travel size because you can use it at home and on the go. The main difference between this size and the full size (other than the obvious size difference) is the choice of sounds is a little less. My son had the full size Sleep Sheep as well, and we very rarely used the extra sounds (they were honestly kind of scary). Save some money, and stick to the travel size. Read more

I got the bear model for my son 3 years ago. It has 8 sound options and is a good size for him to cuddle with to this day.I ordered the sheep for my next child thinking it would be of the same quality but it's significantly cheaper in many ways. It only has 4 sounds none of which are lullaby songs. The sounds are of a stream, rain, ocean & whale. The sounds are very unappealing. The size of the sheep is also half the size of the bear, and the noise box barely fits in the sheep so it's protruding out the back to make the sheep look to have a rectangular shaped bum. This is one of the best purchases I have made for my son. This is my second one. I bought one when my son was a few months old to help him. As he got older, it has helped him fall asleep. This is the second Sleep Sheep On the Go we've had. The first one was a gift and not used much by our first child. The second one we replaced ourselves when the first one stopped working - the internal sound machine went crackly then even in spite of a battery change, stopped working all together. The second one has lasted less than FOUR MONTHS! Our second child now 18 months has particularly LOVED this little sheep and falls asleep every sleep time with one of the sounds on this little sheep going along. He was a reflux baby and so post that trauma this sleep sheep has been wonderful to get him sleeping and the sounds it make triggering an understanding that it's sleep time now. He even presses the buttons in the night if he wakes to turn it back on again to go back to sleep and sometimes sleeps with his head pushed right up against it on the side of the cot as a comfort thing. But it's frustrating beyond words to have a second sleep sheep stop working all together as it's not exactly cheap to replace. If more durable then this would be a 5 star rating. Read more

I really wanted this to be as good as the reviews stated. It's a good concept, but in reality it's impractical. The sound box is far too clunky for the pocket and keeps slipping out of the side. I also find it irritating that you can't have the sound playing continuously as for some babies you need constant white noise to help them stay asleep. It's also not loud enough for when we're out and about, which defeats the purpose of having this one. I wish they'd also replace the fastener with a clip button - Velcro is loud when you undo it so there's no option of moving the sheep if you transfer the sleeping baby. I've taken the sound box out and insert my phone playing a white noise app in the pocket instead - it's much more effective. Read more

I use this to block out noise if baby needs to sleep. It also helps them drift off if they are tired but not managing to fall asleep. I like the rain setting of all sounds. There's a 23 minute and 45 minute setting. I first thought this product was expensive but it's turned out to be the best product I've brought to help baby sleep. Best of all it's so portable. It took me one month to get to like the product. I didn't think it worked at first but one morning, house was noisy and baby couldn't sleep, 20inutes with sound on and he was fast asleep. Read more

Having noticed how it settled my 2 week old to ssshhhh in her ear, I started thinking about white noise. I tried it initially on my phone with an app and it worked! If she is in the right sleepy zone ie not overtired then this works when I put my daughter down awake.It does look a bit strange as there is a large plastic sound box sticking out of the back of the sheep, but from the front it looks like a pretty good quality little cuddly sheep.I would recommend trying white noise first to see if it'll work for your little one, the rain works best for us as it's a constant noise.
