I wanted to wait several months to write my review to see how the product would work and last.When I got the product in December of 2018 and I opened the box, I was amazed at the product. I have not seen anything like this before. The Eucalyptus leaf inside the bottle was stunning. The shampoo smelled like a Eucalyptus leaf.This shampoo really helped me with my dandruff problem. On the second month of use, I noticed that my scalp was not as itchy or flaky as before. However, I did see notice my ends were dry after each use, so I had to use a hydrating conditioner.In addition, the product lasted for 5 months. It did so because I shower everyday, but washed my hair 2 times in a week. Each time I wash my hair, I would use two-three pumps, wash my hair and repeat the process one more time. I have a sensitive scalp and have tried just about every shampoo out there over the years. I had relied on EVG.org to leads me to safe and gentle laundry products, and their recommendations were excellent. So I thought I'd give them a try for shampoo. Amazon doesn't carry most of EVG's top recommendations in this category, which turned out to be a blessing. In no time I found this unique product. The packaging is stunning. Within it is a leaf the length of bottle. Cool packaging aside, it performed far better than any other shampoo I used. It's pricey, but if you don't want to pour carcinogens or other dangerous chemicals onto your scalp (where they'd seep into your system), and desire hair with excellent body (as well as an itch-free scalp), then you might want to give this a try. Smells good. Great packaging. I have a DMAPA and Coco Betadine allergy and I was excited to try this. It made my scalp break out so I think there’s an ingredient in here in that family because those are the only things that cause this reaction as I’ve had a full panel of cosmetic allergy testing. In short, this is the best shampoo I’ve ever used in my life on my curly type 3B hair for two reasons. It’s a truly non toxic “clean beauty” product but it also performs better than any shampoo I’ve ever used, “clean” or “dirty,” spendy or cheap. If it ever goes away I’m going to have a meltdown.First, and this is not glamorous, Clevos is the only thing I’ve found that doesn’t now give me a scalp rash, including a number of products marketed as “non-toxic” and “sensitive.” If you have developed rashes to common ingredients, I’m so sorry, and I think this is really worth a try.But second, this shampoo alone does what I used to need two conditioning steps to do. It somehow gently moisturizes your hair— without making it greasy (Hello no-poo) or coating it with drying waxes and silicones or oils that make you break out. It doesn’t create a need for a conditioner at all. It makes me realize a lot of companies are selling us a problem in one bottle and a solution in another, or maybe just two interdependent problems.When the rash came along, it seemed like the trade off for not having a chemical reaction was going to be tangly straw hair. I didn’t get to be a person who could hope for “performance” in beauty products in general.Instead, it turned out that this is the best shampoo I’ve ever used, and I’m comparing it to everything in the drugstore plus Mastey, Bumble & Bumble, Brocato, Aveda, no poo, low poo, Jason, Free & Clear, Acure, 365, shampoo bars, African black soap, apple cider vinegar, you name it.Again, I have long curly 3B hair. My whole life, even when low-pooing, I needed not just a conditioner but also a leave-in conditioner and usually a styling aid to keep my curls from frizzing. Every time I got my hair wet, conditioner went on it.I figured out that I could skip conditioner with this product by accident, by starting Clevos and at one point running out of conditioner while camping. I just kept using Clevos without any conditioner step and thought, this is great, but how long I can get away with this for? It turns out—at least 3 years and counting. And I really don’t want for anything else out of a shampoo or an added conditioner in terms of manageability. I’m for once not looking for something better.When I’ve tried re-adding a conditioner step after this shampoo, it’s actually always made my hair feel worse. I can feel that conditioner leaves waxy buildup on my hair and dries it out. With Clevos alone, I am frizz-less, bouncy, shiny, and not even remotely itchy. When my hair finally grew past my shoulders I started to need to add a ACV rinse to my hair once or twice a week to detangle. But I think that’s still a remarkably minimal routine for curly hair.I don’t usually like fragrance but the rosemary scent is subtle, natural, relaxing, doesn’t linger, and is genderless. The lather is nice, the pump lets you dispense a pea size or a dollop. It feels and smells luxurious. The bottle is pretty. I don’t know what else to say. Maybe only that I wish it cost a little less. I’ve tried less expensive non toxic shampoos since Clevos for budget reasons and the rash returns and my hair dries out. I can’t go back. I’m a lifer. I’ve been searching a long time for a good natural shampoo and I’ve finally found it! I got the rosemary version and it is amazing. I waited 4 months to write this to make sure I could give it a positive review since it seemed almost too good to be true. Normally natural shampoos leave my hair tangly, greasy and weighed down. I have long thick hair with a lot of volume and this has worked wonders. It feels shiny, clean and smooth and I can go almost a week in between washes if I want. My scalp feels really clean yet it’s not over drying at all for me. Long story short, I think this is well worth a try for anyone looking for a good EWG verified clean shampoo that actually works. I didn't want to love it so much since it's pretty expensive.....BUT....I love it - and more importantly, I believe it's WORTH THE COST! Smells heavenly, leaves no residue, cleans so well, luxurious lather, even more luxurious bottle. The pump worked perfectly for me - no issues. I will definitely purchase this again. This shampoo is different to all others I have used. Its consistency is like aloe vera gel, which is nice. It lathers up quite easy and lasts. That said I have to wash my hair 3 times to feel the scalp is clean. The hair feels clean but the scalp not so much so I have to apply it three times. I was hoping to use it only once or max twice per week as I read another reviewer mentioned but no, I have to wash my hair every other day for I start getting an itchy scalp. Even though it looks amazing and smells quite nice, I am not sure I will buy it again. It is too expensive for such frequent use... but I will see how long it lasts me. Read more
