I have bought two of these kits and both times the holder freezes on the first day I get to the solid smiley face. Even after I press the eject button, it won't go back to normal so I can test tomorrow. So basically, the holder is garbage, this month is a guessing game, and I'll need to pick up a 3rd ~$30 kit to test again next month.I thought after the first time this happened that it was just a fluke. But having two holders do this back to back, I won't buy another one and wouldn't recommend this product. Read more

Loving this ovulation testing kit!! It takes the guess work out reading the test strips. I used the cheap strips and they worked ok but sometimes it was hard to read. I don’t have that problem with this kit. So far Iv gotten the flashing smiley face so hoping any day now I’ll be getting a solid smily face for ovulation. Any one out there who’s been trying for awhile like my husband and I (a year to be exact) , spend the money on this product!! It’s worth it!! Read more

I’ve been trying to conceive for a few months now. This was my third box of clearBlue ovulation kit. I usually get them from target but this time I was trying to be cheap and I decided to buy from Amazon. I did two test two days back to back around the time I felt like I was ovulating the test said no with the blank circle luckily for me I had one extra left from the previous box from target on the third day I decided to try both. The one from target said peak ovulation “steady smiley face” this one said no “blank circle” please do not buy this if you don’t want to miss your ovulation day. I’m on letrozole so my ovulation days are usually longer than normal. Maybe the expiration date made the test result inaccurate. Read more

This product is truly amazing! I am 43 and as we already have children (youngest is 7) I thought it was probably just too late for me now as we have been kind of trying naturally for a baby for the last 5 years without success. Due to our age we thought we would just try this product before calling it a day so I done the test on the day calculated as my fertile day and there is was it the smiley face came up straight away. I also purchased a sperm friendly lubricant (I have also left a review for this separately) and I cannot believe I am pregnant the very first time using this!!!!!!! Its truly amazing. This kit is useless and made me think I’d not ovulated. Although I’ve since read every negative review (on Amazon) and many more in various forums, to discover two people have pinpointed exactly what has happened in my situation...I believe this kit missed my ovulation - it showed negative for 3 days although I had all the symptoms on the 2nd day.On the 4th day it detected oestrogen and so flashed HIGH fertility. As it’s not programmed to do anything else but flash until it detects LH (no matter what liquid you dip it in) - it flashed a further 6 days, until I ran out of strips. No big deal because my symptoms were long gone anyway.I’ve since learned that there is another oestrogen rise AFTER ovulation. (Incidentally this is why you’re warned not to test after your peak has been detected).The kit probably detected this! So was never going to peak.A cheap kit I used alongside this kit also showed negative but I was given it by a friend on Day 3 of testing with CB so I now know I missed my ovulation (on Day 2) with that kit too. The line got lighter and lighter as the days went on despite that (god damn) smiley face getting more and more annoying!From what I’ve read the ‘Advanced’ test measuring oestrogen too is more trouble than it’s worth and most people recommend sticking to the cheap strips or the normal CB kit.Update: this month I used the cheap strips (one step) off Amazon and they worked perfectly. Really easy to use with very clear instructions. It’s helpful that you can use FMU unlike lots of other OPKs. My only gripe is that you’re told to begin testing very early on in your cycle, which can get expensive. The leaflet instructs me to begin testing at 9 days into my cycle, however I very rarely ovulate before day 16-17 and so I started testing at day 11 so as not to waste lots of tests unnecessarily. This was fine as it allowed the reader to establish a baseline for me but still detected an increase in estrogen for the flashing smiley and my LH surge for the static one after two high fertility days. The reviewers who are posting different results with the same urine but different readers are using the product incorrectly. The reader stores previous information about your hormones to detect an increase. Therefore, the first time you use a reader it will always show low fertility as it thinks that this is your baseline. It would be useful to be able to purchase refills instead of the whole kit as it is on the pricier side. Not pregnant as yet but here’s hoping that using it for a second cycle will result in happy news. Read more
