I have always used this brand of color and loved the results. I even get compliments at salons saying she colors her hair herself. BUT THIS NEW FORMULA BEWARE! I used it Thanksgiving and I put the hair towel on my head when I got out of the shower and proceeded to go put my moisturizers on. Also I had put the color on my brows which I ALWAYS DO! SHOCK WHEN I LOOKED IN THE MIRROR! I had brown stain all over my face and above and below my eyebrows. Oh my stars I was on a tight schedule to be ready at a certain time. I freaked. It took me 30 minutes to get most of that stain off my face with eyeliner remover. It would not come off above or below my eyebrows so I had to draw on really big brows to cover it. I looked awful in my opinion especially when I saw pictures. I knew I should have colored my hair sooner. I would have but It took Amazon over 5 days to ship a prime item. This is happening more and more often now. The 2 days is from when they ship it. Also I do not have any highlights showing like I usually do. I'm disappointed in the new formula and I have 5 more boxes. DebbyP.S. The only thing I liked about it was it is runny now so it went on real quick. I mean it isn't a thick consistency. It's kind of watery. Read more

The media could not be loaded.  (Image 1 is before, image 2 is after) The dye is really easy to use. I love the results although it’s just a little bit darker than before. The conditioner that come in the kit is amazing! It left my hair so soft and silky and weirdly, my hair looks healthier than it did before! Read more

This product was easy to use, covered well, and left my hair soft and shiny. I used 5 medium brown, and the color is not a medium brown, it's very dark, pretty much BLACK and I left it on less than the recommended time. I now will have to spend more money to get back to a lighter shade. Disappointed. Read more

This is the first time I have ever dyed my hair. My goal was to darken some of the strands that were damaged and to cover some of my first grays (I am in my late 20s so they are starting to appear but not widespread or super noticeable to the public yet). I have been in the house after my mom has dyed her hair, so I know how smelly hair dyes can be, and I was surprised that this dye was not that smelly. I was also surprised I didn't have an allergic reaction as I have sensitive skin. (I performed the allergy test beforehand too to make sure it was okay to proceed.) Now, I did not keep the dye in my hair for the full 25 minutes because when I looked in the mirror during dyeing, it looked like it was dyeing my roots blonde and I got scared. I kept the dye in for 5-10 minutes tops before washing it out. Even though I didn't keep the dye in long, I still got a sort of reddish-brown color result. It is not super noticeable as my hair can look kind of reddish brown in bright lighting, but I think next time I am going to look for something that matches my natural color a little more. Read more

I've used this product for years and get a lot of compliments on my hair. Every once in awhile I've tried something else on sale but I always come back to Clairol. It's the easiest to use and my hair always turns out the same. My hair is long, and as I get more and more gray, I found that I go to a much lighter shade of brown. Then I can leave it on the gray hair near my scalp (which is more resistant to coloring) for 30 minutes before I add color to the rest of the hair for 15 minutes more. I use light neutral brown to get a rich medium brown. Read more

I purchased a 3 pack of this dye from Amazon because I had purchased one box from Walmart previously and I was happy with that box. I have use 2 of the boxes in the 3 pack so far and it is very very drippy and it gets all over the place, my roots at scalp were not covered well and I had to supplement with the dye spray until the next dye session. It covers non gray well and the color is nice (the only positive). This stuff STAINS anything! Because it is so drippy I got some on beige carpet and it will not come out, I also got it on my sink counter and this was after laying huge old towels on the counter and floor to try and mitigate any of it flipping somewhere else because of the thin consistency of it. It didn't matter, it still found its way around the towel and blanket and stained it this time also. I have one box left that I will use in 4 weeks and put down painters blankets and then I will have to find another product. Read more

So I'm not sure what happened but I've been dying my hair since I was 16, I've been using a lighter shade of nice and easy for over a year. This is several shades darker strawberry blonde to medium brown. I expected some red. However there are parts all along at random intervals that the dye did not take? And yes we all miss parts this is not that. I also understand some does aren't going to cover some color etc.this is pretty ridiculous though. I've never had a problem before but def use caution when buying hair dye on line. The results were terrible. I'm going to have a hell of a time fixing this. Read more

I tried Clairol's Nice & Easy New formula when it first came out. I actually used it twice. The new formula burned my scalp, damaged my hair and the color was almost black and extremely dull. It also had none of the lovely highlights that the original formula had, it didn't cover grey well (which was ironic as it took about 4 to 5 days to get the color off my skin) and the smell took a full week to go away. Additionally, it stained my towels, all things that did not happen with the old formula. I was so excited to see the old formula on Amazon and I immediately ordered 3 boxes. I was SO DISAPPOINTED TO GET THE NEW FORMULA and then to find out it's not returnable. Amazon worked with me but be careful. Even though it says it's the old formula and shows a picture of the old box, you get the new! Zero stars if they would let me but no option for that! Read more
