I dye my hair a lot. Different shades of red mostly. I used to love this color and was thrilled to see it available. While I waited for it to be delivered I did some research. Clairol hasn't offered this product for years, so this has been in storage somewhere for a long time. I decided what the heck, if it didn't work I'd ask for a refund on the other 2 boxes. It's fine, in fact I just applied the 2nd box. But I had forgotten an important thing about this color: it stains. Do you have light colored counter or tile where you are using it? Be ready to stop and clean up any drips immediately. White tub? Have comet ready as soon as you rinse it out of your hair. Better yet, color with a buddy who can wipe it up as you go, and get any drips off your neck and ears. DO NOT use this the day of, or day before a big event!! You WILL have stained skin/scalp. for a couple of days. That said, this is THE most vibrant red color I've ever found in a boxed/non professional form. Read more

Herbal Essences Paint the Town Red hair color has been my favorite red for years. No stores sell it now so I have to buy it off Amazon and Ebay. The only other issue is the smell but since it makes my hair look natural I will deal with that. Read more
