I had pretty significant hand surgery on April 2nd. As of a month ago, healing was good; but not what I had hoped. My physical therapist suggested I try silicone sheets and gave me a sample. The silicone sheets rolled up while I slept, needed to be covered by a stockinette, which is not practical during the Central California summer heat and are expensive to replace. I did some research and found this product, which is a silicone tape you place on your scar ... that's all you have to do. You do need to leave it on for about 12 hours at a time (same as the silicone sheets); but, I put it on in the morning and wear it while I work with no issues. The tape blends with my skin color and you don't really notice it's on. It adheres well and has minor rolling throughout the day. It can get wet, but that does cause the tape to roll a bit more. It's completely flexible and does not prevent me from doing my office/computer work. My scar is 4" long. The tape is perforated at 2", which has not been a problem for me. I use two squares, cut them in half and get two days out of it. I've also cut little pieces of the tape and covered a burn I got on my finger from a curling wand, and has healed just as well. I have not tried to wash and reuse the tape - I use a new one each time.I have been using the tape for just a few weeks. I do rub the area to break down scar tissue; however, most of my improvement has come from using this product. It's pretty miraculous and if anyone has a scar, I would definitely recommend giving Cica Tape a try.Update:. The scar continues to fade. Photograph on the left was taken 8/2/2018, exactly 4 months after surgery and 2 weeks since the photo in the middle. Read more

Ok, I had bought the Scar Away silicone sheet and was very impressed with it. It was thick,3" long & very good quality, plus it has like a fabric layer on top. The adhesive is also good. I tried it for awhile though don't see much improvement on my scar. Maybe I need more time.1 down point? very expensive. Then I saw this Cica Tape & decided to give it a try. For 60" with the price of 24" worth of Scar Away, I figure it's worth the try, plus my dermatologist said "Any silicone tape would do".I have to confess that my first impression of the Cica tape was not too positive. It's small & thin and the tape looks very flimsy with its see-through quality. It also has the perforation of every 2" & my scar was longer than that, so I have to lay the tape diagonally to increase the length. Plus after washing it, it's so thin that it's harder to keep it from not folding. But then the positive sides surface: Being thin & translucent, it blends into your skin rather than looking like a shiny fabric band-aid as the Scar Away. It also doesn't roll up in my sleep since it lays flat & thin on the scar. Plus, the best thing is I actually see my scar does fade after a few weeks.1 Review did say the Scar Away just sits there on top of your scar & does nothing. I do agree. . Read more

It’s working so far and is staying in place. I haven’t had a skin irration as of yet unlike other medial tapes I’ve used after surgery. Will change my review after a week of use.Update: 12/11/2019; SO, I stop using these after nearly 8 months of using them. Yes, I was using them that long after surgery- my scars for some reason right at the center of my chest were the two scars combine just simply don't want to heal no matter what I do. On another note, after a while it seemed like this brand wasn't working for me- I didn't see any more improvements. After speaking with my surgeon, she recommended a different pair in which I'll leave a review at some point. Read more

This stuff was great. I had a small area where a drain was that healed with a small flap and was puffier than the rest of the incision. When I looked at myself straight on, I felt it looked like I had a Georgia O’Keefe painting right under my ear. I started off by using the thicker, more expensive Cica care patch, but this tape was way more flexible and stayed on better. I’ve been using about 6 weeks (pics 2 and 3). and see a huge huge improvement. I tried placing it over my whole scar that goes almost all the way across my neck, but it wrinkled and felt like it was choking me. I used MD Professionals gel for that, which I also recommend. Best silicone ever, I was wondering if this CicaTape could work like those other expensive ones, so I gave it a try and I am totally speechless! No reason to buy anything else. I also got a free trial for a CICA Lip Balm and is Just amazing. Thanks for all the positive feedback I made the best decision of my life. No ugly scars and the silicone tape would stay for days with no need of replacement. Excellent for C-section or tummy tuck. Read more

Good replacement for Scaraway, which I used for two months following ab surgery. With Scaraway, I found that removing strips daily to air the scar often resulted in folded strips, sticking together. The CicaTape is a little stiffer and did not have that issue. Their selling point of being able to tear off just enough is right. The two-inch, micro-perf pieces come apart easily. My scar is about four inches, so this was great for me. I think Scaraway had a little stronger adhesive, but Cica is just fine. In my case, I have only this single scar, but the third month using Cica after two with Scaraway made a big difference in the appearance. Read more

I am using CicaTape to cover two 6” total knee replacement scars. A few weeks ago my scars were raised and looked like two ropes, but the CicaTape has completely flattened both of them. I also tried ScarAway, but the color was too light and noticeable for my taste, even with my fair complexion - otherwise, it worked well. Don’t expect any silicone sheeting product to work overnight, but give it time and it should work for your scar. I leave the tape on my scars all day, every day. The tape doesn’t seem to be bothered by swimming or the shower, and if the end starts to curl up - just push it right back down and it should stick. I plan on continuing to use the CicaTape for months to see if my scars become lightened and less noticeable - and am on my second box. So far, CicaTape appears to be working well. Read more

I purchased this silicone tape after my wound healed and I had quite a large incision that I didn't want to stand out. I placed the tape on immediately for approximately 3 months in duration and my scar is now a light pink. It is thin, flat, and nearly blends in with the surrounding skin. I would say the silicone tape does what it's supposed to do. Read more

Great quality but expensive as it had to ship from the US to Canada. I used it on my very fresh stomach scar and it made me feel more protected and secure. Very light on the skin, doesn't stick and you can rinse it off to reuse. Very recommended! Read more

Even with the considerable shipping cost, this item is worth getting, compared to the alternative products offered online. It’s easy to cut to size. It stays on your skin (even through showers) until you choose to peel it off. It’s not bulky. It’s thin and protective. Read more
