At first I gave these plates very enthusiastic "thumbs up". However, after just a couple of weeks of gentle use (no dishwasher, very gentle baby dish soap and delicate sponge) the color on them started to come off leaving tiny specs of paint everywhere. I don't think anyone would want their kids eating out of these 😞 Read more
This plate has helped me immensely in feeding my picky preschooler. My son has Sensory Processing Disorder and mealtime can be tough because he doesn’t want to eat new foods (i.e. new foods = tantrums/whining).With this plate, I now feed him in stages - fruit and/or veggies have to be eaten first before he can get peanut butter or chicken (his preferred foods). My son likes routines, so all foods are distributed according to the picture at every meal, plus he knows how much he has to eat because the plate is divided. You can’t put a price on the amount of whining this has eliminated during our mealtimes. These plates hand wash very well and I like that they are BPA-free and melamine-free, too. Would recommend to any parent! Read more
I was unable to find my original review to provide an update, but I did want to write about our recent experience. We have had these plates for sometime now, and they have been a great learning tool for our son. I put all the 4 food groups out for him even if he does not eat them all because I think it helps him to see what he could and should be eating. The idea of these plates is awesome! The colors are bright and I feel comfortable with my son handling (carrying) these plates too. We did have an issue with a few plates after two years (2 yrs!) and I contacted the company asking about this. They responded right away and offered to replace the set. I felt uncomfortable taking a whole set after 2 years so I asked for just one plate so I could keep using as a 'teaching' tool. I did not hear back via email, but instead received an entire set from the company within only a few days. I just want to say that it is so nice to see a company stand by their product and display true customer service. I did give 4 stars, and was not sure if I should, but I did this because 1) the issue did exist, which prompted my call to them, and 2) my original rating was 4 stars because I feel that the 4 sections could be larger for kids as they grow (I find that I need to pile the sections high as my son grows because he is eating more and more as time goes no). Otherwise, they would get a 5 for customer service , which is so hard to come by these days! Thank you Super Healthy Kids! Read more
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. ITS TERRIBLE.I bought the 4 plates pack a month ago, it arrived in a brown box, no instructions or branding. I cannot believe my eyes, the paint is rubbing off and making my white kitchen red. At first I couldn't understand why I had red fingers and smudges all over. To my dismay, it's the plates. Even bone dry, the paint just rubs off. When my husband first saw these, he said they were to go straight into the bin. Yet I knew they were the real thing, surely SUPER HEALTHY KIDS wouldn't sell an inferior product. Well, I was wrong. How can you produce such a lousy low grade product that will come into contact with food (vital) for a child (beyond vital and fragile)?I am appalled. SHK, you've just lost a huge fan. Read more
These for fun for a while, but slowly took it's place on the back shelf. Mostly because I failed to give a well balanced meal....oops. I felt guilty giving a plate with an empty space (I won't lie...it wasn't the grains/meats... haha) Sometimes I had to clean it twice because I noticed the corners still had residue; I hand washed....though not very good apparently haha! i think they are dishwasher safe, but i was worried they would start fading like some bowls i had in the past, i through them in a few times with no problem though. I really wish it had a dairy section, but I purchased these because I didnt like the other plates having the dairy connected. They stack, but since they are deep plates, they make a tall stack. We also used these with our play food as a lesson, so would work great in a classroom Read more
After a few uses the plastic film peels off and the pictures smudge and fade. Eating off a layer of plastic? Can't be good. Read more
Love it! The fact it has dividers is absolutely great. Teaching my toddler using this plate is great. In terms of durability I don't reccomened any cutting since I think it would easily ruin it.Update 2021: we still love it but the red rim is disappearing as ots washed. The insides are still there and strong so I'm not sure why the rim os different Read more
I bought these for my two-year-old grandchild. They are bright, colorful and attractive. My daughter likes them because it reminds her to plan meals including all the food groups. The portion dividers seem a little large, though, for a two-year-old, although that is the lower age limit for which the plates were recommended for use. I would say that each section should be only half-filled for an appropriate two- or three-year old portion. I note that several reviews complain that the color is not durable; we've been using them for only a week or so now, and have not yet found any problems in that regard, although I will edit my review should that happen.
