I got a Chi Rocket hair dryer because I went out of town, forgot mine and had to borrow one. OMG! This sounds silly, but this dryer has changed my frizzy, untamed, wavy long hair into hair I love. Any hint of humidity in the air at all turns my fine, limp hair into a frizz ball. I’ve struggled between drying it with a dryer and mostly being too lazy to do that the majority of my life. Hair drying was always a time consuming process that made my hair lose all volume and just never seemed worth my time since my hair would frizz right back up after drying.This dryer is a game changer! It dries SO fast, it’s ultra quiet and it leaves my hair smooth and shiny. I could never have nice looking hair without a huge time investment. Ok, so a little background here: I bought my first Chi in 2009. It's FINALLY started to fall apart on me. So I bought this. I opened the box up this morning and used it WITHOUT reading the directions. I've been using a hair dryer as long as I can remember, so I didn't think I had to read the directions before I used it.I plugged it in and turned it on. #1 - It's heavier than the Chi I bought in 2009. #2 VERY loud compared to my old one. So I turned it on and not only is it loud and heavy it was COLD the entire time. I am thinking it will get hot eventually. I finally hit the "COOL SHOT" button and try to guess what!!!!It got hotter than hell!!! By the time I got finished I looked like a big o sheep dog. I guess I am sending this back! Read more

Have used this brand for years...and purchased this model. At first I thought it was great but after about 5-6 months I started having issues with my hair. It was very dry, brittle and when shampooing my hair would tangle to the point of feeling like it was in knots. Puzzled...I changed shampoo several times. Used more conditioner...but even after my shoulder length hair was dry...it looked bushy and horrible. My daughter had an older model that needed to be replaced. After talking with others I opted for a different brand for her, Dry Bar Buttercup. I used this dryer a few times and my hair looked remarkably different and so I purchased myself one. No idea as to what went wrong with this Chi dryer...other than...it was like a $10 dryer that doesn't protect your hair. If you've bought one...just look for signs of changes with your hair after a few months. Lastly when I purchased this dryer it was almost $100 more than it is today... that should send up a 'Red Flag'. Read more

My hairstylist recommended this dryer to me and the first one I purchased finally died after 6 years of daily use. I was looking for a quiet hairdryer....this fit the bill on that count. It drys hair thoroughly in a reasonable amount of time and has cut down the frizz factor in my hair. Not too hot, a cool button for setting style. I have tried some other models in recent years but none of them have had all of the benefits that this dryer offers to hair styling. Read more

My previous dryer was a Chi and I loved it. It finally fell apart on me, so I bought this one. It dries adequately, but my fingers always seem to inadvertently hit the cool shoot button. And the comb attachment it came with is loose. It spins on me constantly. It's fine for a $60 dryer, but seems a step below my previous dryer. Read more

This hair dryer is not low EMF as stated. We have an magnetic/electric field meter as my wife is sensitive to electromagnetic fields. When turned on, it maxed out the meter just like her previous hair dryer. Will be returning and keep looking for one that really is low EMF. Read more

I had same brand dryer and had been using for more than 15 years, recently it didn't work so bought same brand since I like it so much. The new one is almost the same as the old, but the handle is longer so it's better grip to hold it. The button for cold/hot air is very convenient compare to the old, also there is fancy light in different color showing the dryer has hot or cold air. Read more

This is the third CHI Rocket I've bought in two years. Works great, until it doesn't work any more. All three of mine have died with no indication that there's an issue. Works one morning. Doesn't work the next. I originally bought this brand because my stylist used it and figured, if he can dry the hair of 6 to 8 clients a day 6 days a week, drying mine once a day should be easy. I bought this mid October of last year and it's already dead. Didn't last one year. Will never by this brand again. Who can afford to throw away $150? Not me. Read more
