I LOVE this lotion and have been using it forever. However, the jar I received was defective. The lotion was thick and congealed, not at all like it should be. They're either selling returned or damaged products as 'new'. This is an excellent product, but buy it from the a store. Don't waste waste your money buying it here.Also, there are several poor reviews about the container not being completely full. It's not supposed to be, the jar is bigger than 1.7 oz. I've used Cetaphil products for awhile now and have been very pleased with them. The night moisturizer for dry skin is wonderful and, in the winter, I use it as my day cream as well. I was looking for something lighter to put under my foundation and thought I'd give this a try. What a disappointment! This is a very thin product--more watery than any moisturizer I've ever used--which would be fine if it provided any moisture at all. It goes on easily enough but then just simply evaporates. I can't even tell that it's been on my skin at all. Either I received a fake product (which, unfortunately seems to be happening more frequently on Amazon) or this is simply a very poor product. UPDATE: After using the first (possibly two) jars with no problems, suddenly the product started burning my eyes so badly that once it crept in there, the burning lasted all day even though I washed it off around my eyes and flushed them with saline. Now I have to apply a thick coat of something else around my eyes (must do this FIRST, trust me) and then put it on the rest of my face, neck and chest. Maybe they're making it in China or getting one of the ingredients from China now??UPDATE 2: Sent it back and they got back to me and said it was counterfeit. I never bought it before because I erroneously assumed that a reasonably priced drugstore brand couldn't possibly out-perform a department store brand. My skin gets painfully dry in the winter, and this is the first cream that has ever kept my skin moist. You don't need much and while it appears to be a little greasy after you apply it, it sinks in after several minutes. Works great under makeup.The only downside is there's no SPF in it, so unless you can shield your face from the sun and any reflection from the sun, you can't wear it outside during the day. Forget about applying sunscreen over it, sunscreen loses its ability to protect your skin when mixed with or layered on top of a hydrating moisturizer like this. A gel moisturizer after it's really really dry, you have a better chance of a sunscreen working, but not a rich moisturizer like this one.I can't imagine finding a better moisturizer than this, color me a lifelong customer! Well, internet...I dont post pics of myself ever, but I am so impressed with this product that I posted a makeup free selfie to show you how great it works. I am in my early 40s and really have no crows feet to speak of because of this product. I’ve got loads of other issues going on with my face, but lateral canthal lines are not one of them. This eye cream/gel just really helps soften the eye area. It feels so nice when you put it on and it absorbs easily and doesn’t leave greasiness. For my nightly skincare routine (such as it is) I use a makeup wipe, micellar water, Cetaphil eye gel and a cheap night cream. So, not the most rigorous regime. I also just started using sunscreen on my face last year. ( I know. I KNOW, ok? It was stupid, but I’m much more responsible now.) I’ve never had surgery or Botox. This. Stuff. Is. Just. Amazing. It’s made up for all the bad stuff I’ve done to the skin around my eyes in years past: sun, wind, squinting, lack of sleep, camping/hiking/biking/running without sunscreen, etc. I hope Cetaphil makes this stuff forever. Sadly did not strike a chord. The bottle is sent without a lid or a sealed box which would trouble most people, me included. As for the performance. The lotion is literally milky water. It almost "slipped" off my face. I found no benefit from its use. If anything just made my face feel greasy and dirty! I know....that bad. I don't normally give reviews like this but In my opinion there are better products out there in the same price range and lower that will deliver better results. This was a complete waste of money this cream is not moisturising at all, gave me huge breakouts and irritation all over my face even on my forehead where i rarely get any acne, it definitely isn’t suitable for sensitive skin and according to the ton of new blackheads on my face isn't non comedogenic like stated either, i much preferred simples light moisturising cream and have already ordered a new one as actually is and does what cetaphil claims, i really expected more from this due to brand reputation but this was a complete letdown, and over £20 for such a small bottle its a complete joke really cant believe this product has so many positive reviews Read more
