I ordered 1 on 2 separate occasions and returned both of them because they were dark brown in color and not the caramel brown color like the gate I ordered from Amazon. When I installed the gate, I determined that a gate extension was needed. Two gate extensions ordered and two gate extensions returned because the brown gate extensions did not match the brown gate. The result, I have a gate installed but I can't use it because I have been unable to get a gate extension to match the gate color. Read more
We use this outdoor gate extension to keep our beagle in its kennel. The protective coating appears to be powder-coated on and has not shown any sign of corrosion or fading since about six months now. I am sure it will last much longer. Installation was straight forward but the three screws that attach the extension to the main gate were too short. Had to go to a local hardware store to purchase longer stainless steel screws. Cardinal Gates should not have allowed this oversight, but the extension is of excellent finish, strength and quality. Read more
I actually like this extension better than the gate itself if that makes sense. It felt sturdier and had better installation instructions. I don’t have a lot more to say about it other than it works, it’s relatively affordable, and it was not incredibly difficult to install. No regrets on the purchase. Read more
This is a very nice gate made quite well. If you're buying this gate (I recommend that you do) and plan to use it outdoors you may want to consider spray painting it with a clear coat of UV/weather protectant sealing product. Mine is being used on a deck to keep the dogs away from the door so it is outside 100 % of the time. Recently I've noticed the original paint is fading after about 6 months of being exposed to the elements. Otherwise not a single problem with this gate. Read more
