I really wanted to love this product. For the last 5 years I’ve used Matrix Biolage shampoo and conditioner. My hair was always silky, smooth, strong, and smelled great. I was looking to minimize some chemicals in daily products so I started researching shampoos and conditioners that are a little more natural. I knew it wouldn’t be cheap but neither are the Matrix products. Within a couple of days of using the Burt’s Bees shampoo and conditioner, my hair was AWFUL. it felt like straw, was VERY heavy and almost greasy. Definitely would not recommend. I am really pleased with my purchase! I've been using garnier, aussie, and herbal essence and for eac kind it always felt like it was stripping my hair. I'd rake my fingers through my hair and it would bring small handfuls out with it. With burts bees my hair feels more soft and I dont feel like I'm losing hair with it. Oh, how I love this shampoo! It's the only one I use now, for the past 3 yrs. It only takes a little bit and it will make the most luxurious, foamy lather! It takes about half a minute to work up the lather, but it's well worth it. I started using Burt's Bees because I found out I'm allergic to SLS, sodium laurel sulfate, and Burt's Bees doesn't contain it, in fact, it's all natural and chemical free.Since I starteded using it, the natural curl I used to have has come back, and my 'dishwater' blonde hair has lightened back to it's former full shade lighter. I have thick, dry, fine hair and have been using Burt’s Bees for years. It’s the only shampoo that actually does for me what it says -volumize. Other shampoos, even the so-called designer shampoos, leave my hair heavy and limp. I wouldn’t be leaving a review except I saw some bad reviews when I went to re-order and wanted to give another perspective. Everybody’s hair needs are different and this product may not work for everybody, especially for those whose hair tends to be on the oily side. But if you have dry and fine hair, I doubt that you would be disappointed. Read more

I have fine hair. This shampoo gently cleans without drying out my hair. Unlike other shampoos, I use only a small dab because it is so effective. Check the ingredients against EWG's list of ingredients that may be harmful--this shampoo does not have any of those ingredients unlike other shampoos. Read more
