I've used sumotech since 2000. The product I received in Oct 2019 is markedly different than all prior products I've had: 1. Its color is yellowed; 2. It is much softer/less firm; 3. It did not have a waxy seal needed to be peeled off; 4. It does not hold hair in place anywhere near as strongly as it used to.Unless I somehow got a counterfeit, which I've never experienced before, B&B changed their formula and packaging and the result is a very inferior product not worth the price. As a daily user of Bumble & Bumble Sumotech since 2006, I could tell right away this was not legit. While the packaging is indistinguishable from the original, the texture and color were dead giveaways that this counterfeit. This beeswax or whatever the heck this vendor is trying to pass off as Sumotech, is complete garbage and leaves your hair overly waxy and lacks any matte properties. This is infuriating and I recommend anyone who received a knockoff to report this vendor to Amazon and Bumble & Bumble. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Read more

Asian male, medium length hair that is hard, straight, and dense. Product is terrible. It looks great for the first 30 seconds, then loses its hold at the slightest touch or even wind. An hour later it looks like there's no product left at all. I tried using a small amount, a large amount, on dry hair, wet hair. Maybe it only works for softer hair, or longer hair, or shorter hair....I don't know because all the reviews are very positive but it just doesn't work on my hair. My page shows I've bought this product 10 times so far. This is my last. Bumble and Bumble changed this product. It's now super sticky and harder to use and doesn't hold as well as it used to. The color is yellower but that's not really an issue, the performance of the product it. It's now exactly like the products you can get at Walmart and Target for $11-$13. B&B had a good thing going with Sumotech and they went the "product improved" aka "we made it cheaper for us to make so we can make more money on it" route and think we'll pay for it because it's been great in the past. I've spent a lot of timing looking around for the right hair product and this is the only one that fits my hair style. I have a standard modern hair style with slightly longer hair on the top and short hair on the side. I've had difficulty finding a product that will allow my hair to stand up without looking too slick or greased. SumoTech is one of the few products that actually keeps my hair up throughout the day while still maintaining a relatively clean look. Read more

I was sceptical with the product price being double the price of the usual brands (Fudge etc) but this is an amazing product, one that actually lasts a full day. If you have thicker hair like I do, you will understand how frustrating it is when other brands simply 'dry out' in hours and you might as well have not bothered. This product seems like it has solved the perfect balance between strong hold that lasts but is also easily washed out. The best I've discovered yet, would buy it in bulk if they did offers.
